History
The smoking fetish appears to be rare enough that its existence went largely unnoticed until the advent of the Internet, when fetishists began to meet smoking fetishonline, trading pictures of smoking women, short stories, and reporting sightings or simply discussing their fascination on open forums. Some of the earlier news groups were alt.smokers.glamour (ASG) and alt.sex.fetish.smokers (ASFS). In addition to free sites, often containing scans from magazines (such as Smoke Signals (magazine)) or candid pictures, there are a number of 'professional' sites offering DVDs and VHS tapes of trained models who smoke in front of the camera.

Some fetishists have a fascination with the addictive properties of nicotine, and its ability to cause harm, and there is a sub-fetish relating to women being harmed by smoking, sometimes called "the dark side" or "lung damage". This may suggest an element of misogyny in the community's psychology. A large number of fetishists are also known to have a strong attraction to the glamourous aspect of smoking by women. Historically considered a masculine habit, the feminization of smoking with the advent of fashion brands specifically sexo gordas marketed towards women has drawn the attention of fetishists who see the use of these brands as a way for women to increase or enhance their sexual appeal. Most often this fascination is focused on young fashion-conscious professional women who are the target demographic for these brands, which are differentiated by slimness and added length over traditional brands of cigarettes. Another view is that smoking is wrong and that only bad girls smoke.
Smoking fetishism (capnolagnia)
My wife is the only person whom I've told about the "SF"; which is a good thing, considering capnolagnia is a lifestyle. Yes, the SF is a lifestyle, and most smoke fetishers can't help the fact. Despite the ever-growing anti-smoking public, smokers are everywhere; and since smoking is typically fat girls thought of as a non-sexual activity, people smoke wherever they can. Thus fetishers are constantly being reminded of their desires throughout the entire day. This is okay, though: we LOVE it! We are a different breed. We accept this blessing with fat girls open arms, because how else can you legally get a euphoric high or aroused just by witnessing a woman enjoy a cigarette?

Is a sexual fetish (paraphilia), consisting of the fetishisation of the smoking of tobacco, including cigarettes, cigars, pipes or even ash trays. It is thought that most smoking fetishists are heterosexual fat girls men, though there are also groups of homosexual and bisexual men and women who have expressed similar interests in the fetish.

Among heterosexual men, the fetish is often associated with oral fixations and fellatio (see oral sex). Next, I am going to write my thoughts on the different types of SFers, and the different aspects that fetishers look for when a woman smokes.

Additionally, it has been suggested that there is an element of ephebophilia to the fetish, as much of the related literature generated concerns the events surrounding a teenager taking up the habit, virtually always a female making the switch from disgusted non-smoker to hopelessly fat girls addicted smoker. Whether or not this is true ephebophilia is debatable, as the vast majority of smokers do, in fact, start during adolescence.
