THANK YOU ALSO POLYANN AND LUNA LUPE FOR YOUR BIRTHDAY REMEMBERANCE! Another year older and deeper in debt as the old Earnie Ford USE to say in his song!" Another day older and deeper in debt"! It has been an enjoyable year thus far. Many showed up this year at the annual get-together at Chain -O - Lakes State Park on July 2. Here we have many friends, relatives, family, and friends of friends, that meet for a day fun and enjoyment "Kick Back" day! Everyone was swimming, boating, fishing, canoing, hiking, camping, paddle boating, and of course, EATING! :) :) I was suppose to do part of the Bar-B-quing, but ended up having to hike and find 10 lost friends, who took the wrong path from the campgrounds that they were staying at. They were easy to track, especially when one knows their way around the trails and off trails their. lol lol lol Any way I led them to the place st Sunny Ridge shelter where we had more food than you could shake a stick at. All kinds of good "Old Fashioned" food! It would prove to be another surprise/shocking get-together as usual again this year. We had approximately 75 people in and out all day. Others were late comers, but many made it this year. The two biggest shockers were: A group of 8 friends who joined us from Oklahoma and Illinois, what a surprise! I coud not believe it! I was glad to see them, it has been many moons since I had seen them. Everyone laughed at that (a secret everyone kept fom me lol lol ) I did not even suspect, but everyone else knew! Even my own kids and relatives never breathed a word of it to me, lol lol. One of the biggest surprises was my next to oldest son got hitched (right on the beach) that was a different type of wedding I admit. That wasn't suppose to happen until the get together on Labor Day, lol lol ! Yes, we do have another get-together on Labor Day, but that is usually a much smaller affair as many can't make it then. On the July 4th weekend get-togethers we celebrate a lot of birthdays and have more that attend. This was our 8th year get-together and it gets bigger every year. I will be adding many pictures from the get-together in my album later as they come in. A dear old friend of mine also arrived, John golden bear Davis showed up with 6 of his family members from the Miami tribe in Peru, Indiana. Was glad to see him and he honored us with a flute celebration and also brought along some drums and had me do some native american drum ensembles with his flute and for me that was the greatest honor of all, it has been many moons since I have done that! he told me afterwords that: "you haven't missed a beat"! He also honored us with a few dances he and his family performed for everyone. I was glad to see my old friend and brother among us, another surprise unknown to me. Yes, we had fun and really had a wonderful time. I am looking forward to next years get together! Hopefully many others may come. WHO KNOWS WHAT NEXT YEAR WILL BRING! GY THE WAY! THANK YOU LOTUS AND BLUE FEMME FOR REMEMBERING MY BIRTHDAY....HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY MY FRIENDS

Has anyone noticed lately what critters have prowling their back yards and gardens lately? You might be surprised by your new guests! What am I talking about ? How about those coyotes? Those bears, wolves, raccoons, oppossums, owls, deer, and other well known reptiles and wildlife! Why have they made their new homes in our backyard? So whats that got to do with "our run of the mill" characters, already here? Such as, chipmunks, squirrels, & birds? Does it seem that the rarity "New Suburbanites" are leaving notes and messages for one another ? Every year, in my backyard, I see new wildlife teeming along the alleys, running between the houses and Rail Road tracks since I have planted & grown new trees, plants, and shrubs, and cleaned up the alleyway next to the tracks and let Earth Mother (nature) take its course. Wow ! What an envigorating experience! It is just not me its happening to, others around the Midwest are also waking up and seeing something never their before. In our fastidious ways of beautifying our yards and lots, we have invited these critters, birds, butterflies, reptiles etc. By doing the obvious, planting and growing, experimenting, and improving many plants and trees we have uninvited guests "brand new" to the neighborhood! Many of our wildlife have adapted to human neighbors. They have found warm homes under decks, atop chimneys, safer retreats from predators, and plenty of "goodies" from humans and their landscape "mania"! Why is their an increase in "New Urbanites"? The answer is simple ! GREEDY MAN! Yes, that is correct,MANS GREED! As we pave over rural spaces and develop suburban housing, replace farm land, destroy forests & wet lands, wildlife has no alternative, but to move "in land" to our backyards and thus, more common encounters with displaced animals. As we, animals and wildlife have a need to survive! The loss of Natural Habitat has caused a great decline in song birds and owls, the animals and wildlife have increased and learned to survive as neighbors next to man. Many animals have learned to be cunning, sly. and intelligent. They have learned (as an army) to probe and calculate, "as man has done in the past"! They have learned their niches in urban dwellings. The first to make it was coyotes and alligators, as well as the generalists - who can survive on a variety of foods and hide from humans. The coyote "the slick trickster" for example, have adopted to foraging food while we sleep. "By tradition" urban areas were not thought as viable habitats for wildlife, but as bears, raccoons, alligators, etc. have proven, that is now a fable!
END PART 1 - PART II AT A LATER TIME, I WILL COVER - HOW TO SURVIVE WITH THE "NEW URBANITES"!

GOOD MORNING ALL:
I am sure you did not miss me while away working and updating my web sites and pages their. I see a lot of new faces here while I have been away...I did take time to sneak another blog in earlier last week. Although a few comment letters were sent me here from a few friends of mine wondering what was up. I DO APPRECIATE YOUR CONCERNS MY FRIENDS, BELIEVE ME, I REALLY DO! So what in the world was I doing?
I rechanged my aim page at AIM and added and updated.
I added more to my kaboodle pages.
I turned my whole page around at "My Yahoo" personal pages
I redid and changed my whole page and added a whole lot more top movie ratings and opened 4 special additions to my page at movie flicks web site.
Spent six hours at hospital with my next to oldest son.
Revamped "My 360 page" at yahoo.
Had a "special visit" at my special ed youngest son,
Added another album of pictures at yahoo.
Bowled in both leagues and really sucked.
Bowled in a tournament Sunday and did well, at least for now in top 10 of tournament.
Started to redo Facebook.com - did not finish.
Talked a kid out of comitting suicide, posted that in a paragraph or two on my Gentlmans Journal at aim. He is doing fine now, but it was not an easy task, I had to use every trick in the book and then some to stave him away from ignorant thoughts like that. Never met the kid, only through another blogging sight, NO I AM NOT A HERO! With his recent problems, I could well understand why...Although, that happened recently, have been working him through it. And so far, he is getting away from those thoughts. Yeah, folks I have been real busy and not done yet! Maybe I will place that blog in here, who knows about me, huh? Ya never know what I will come up with, when I blog! As some of you know, I try to be as friendly as possible here, as everyone is to, given a chance to express themselves. A lot of teasing here in fun and lots of good people here. I find this one of the best sites for friends and believe me, it is! Well ENOUGH OLD BORING STUFF FROM THIS BLOGGER! HAVE A GOOD WEEK EVERYONE AND SEE YA ALL LATER........

THE SMELL OF LEATHER, THE CRACK OF BATS!
The smell of leather, the cracking sound of the bat, the whooshing balls, the look and smell of new uniforms, new faces, the anticipation on the faces of many fans and folks! LET THE GAMES BEGIN! Colts win the Super Bowl ! The NBA playoffs & Champions to be crowned, the College NCAA Tournament, who will it be? ALL THIS AND MORE IS COMING SOON ON A TV NEAR YOU! In the next few days Pitchers and Catchers will report to their respective teams for Spring Training - and "Baseball Mania" again, takes over the Center Stage in our lives. Our senses, are awakened once again! Who will be the best this year, when all is said and done ? Will the Cardinals and Tigers take the final field once again, or will it be 2 other different teams? Perhaps the Cubs and Yankees ? Or two other different teams that will surprise us all ? As was the Colts and Bears in the Super Bowl. Who knows what awaits the unthinkable, around the corner ? What teams lurk their quiet and silent ? The boys, girls, and kids of Summer! From sand lots, streets, parks, & schools, they will come! It's all about Baseball ! For the next 7 or 8 months, we will ponder, bet, choose, argue, work up anxiety, all for the love of Baseball ! Having fun with Baseball - Americas favorite passion & past time. We travel to the baseball fields of our favorite teams & spend a lot of cash for tickets and MLB snacks, souvenirs, and memorabilia, all for the love of baseball! We have some Hot Dogs, Nachos, and Beer, to stimulate our hype, we will get upset when our team is beaten, and yet, as all good fans, we whoop and holler - ah yes, the "sights and sounds" of Americas great passions has begun! Who will land on "top of the heap"? Who will win the All Star Game, the American League or the National League ? Who will be the Stars from that outcome ? The parents of Little Leaguers & Girls Softball pay "out of pocket expenses", to see their kids play, and perhaps, just perhaps, dream of their children Making the Major League some day ! A dream we all have as parents! "Around the Horn", 'around the outfield', and back again ! The cracking of the bat that sends the ball sailing across the fence and come crashing down on an unsuspecting fan! IT'S 1 - 2 - 3 AND YOUR OUT AT THE OLD BALLGAME! When the dust settles only 1 will win it all !!!!!
WELCOME TO SPRING TRAINING!

February 2 -- Candlemas/Groundhog Day What is in February? THE SUPER BOWL OF COURSE AND WHO WON? My ever lovable losing Colts! But not any more! As you all know the COLTS have pulled it off! For the first time in many moons, I actually was invited to my oldest daughters house to watch the game..Now , me, I was ready for the worse, and WHAM! Out pops the COLTS for the win. It was unreal! I wanted the Colts and Bears to go at it, and sure enough, it came off...Wow, talk about a dream come true, I could not have gotten a much, better wish than "way over due" than that. Now if my lovable losing CUBS could pull off something like the "WORLD SERIES" or The Indiana Pacers could pull off the NBA Championship-wouldn't that be a real treat? But enough on the Sports front from this Veterans Editorialist! I was asked to comment and rate some excellent movies and "so be it" I was able to put down reviews on movies recent and passed - many I have crytiqued for some newspapers in the past, as well as Entertainment magazines and misc.other small and large news media "Movie crytiques"! Now your wondering how much did I get paid for this as a free lancer? I do this voluntarily when asked to do so. I enjoy doing it and filling in when needed. Ever heard of "Camping Around with the Country Cowboy"? I use to do a lot of that, and still do some off and on. Yeah thats me "The Country Cowboy gone camping. That was one of my ghost writers names I used. I use to crytique Camp Grounds and travel tips for Good Sam Club through R.V. World, Camping in Indiana, Campgrounds U.S.A., Bardic Echoes Publications,Campers World and several other now defunct magazines and Newspapers. When those many camping and hiking mags and newsletters were out before folding or being bought out by bigger companies, I wrote for many. You have to enjoy doing it, to really appreciate your work. It takes time and many editing hours to satisfy the ones your writing for. When progress comes and the hatchet starts falling on free lancers it's time to move on. In those days if you weren't a million dollar writer-or a rich kid fresh out of school, you GONE! Simple as that.It took guts and stamina to ride the tidal waves in writing, in those far gone days. But the achievements and pride one took on their work and free lancing was fun and the credits were good. One survived by guts and stamina then! Today it's a brand new Ballgame, even the most beginning writer, with the rite tools and software can go a long ways these days. SO WHATS THAT GOT TO DO WITH FEBRUARY? Simple, I first began wrting heavilly in February 1965! So I kind of consider this my initiation month writing with "big boys" back those many, many moons ago- every year, and thus, it is a landmark for me, every February! Course now, I don't try to be an editor when I do blogs, but call it: "More down to earth for readers," when they do take time to read your blogs and comment....Below is from the website Old Farmers Almanac newsletter-I use to send material in to them, so long ago and they are still around...So hope you don't mind the copied facts and besides I wrote a few of these years ago. Now, see what you think and go visit the website, they have some very interesting topics! Is this copy writed? No, it is one of the many privalages being an-" Old Farmers Almanac fanatic" - course, I am partial to it, because I wrote for them long, long ago! Enjoy folks....Take a walk back into time and think of the rich history of the Old Farmers Almanac.........http://tombowling49.flixster.com/ BY THE WAY IF YOUR INTERSTED IN MY MOVIES CRYTIQUE CHECK OUT MY LINK ABOVE AND AD YOUR OWN MOVIE CRYTIQUE. LOT OF THEM i DID RECENTLY, BUT HAD TO GO BACK TO OLD CRITQUE NOTES, AS WELL AS RECENT ONES.... * On February 2, some people think only of those critters that look for their shadows: Punxsutawney Phil in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, and Wiarton Willie in Wiarton, Ontario. In fact, there is a bit more to the day than that. * February 2 is also Candlemas Day. In the Christian tradition, it is the day that a year's supply of candles is blessed. * February 2 is 40 days after Christmas and is known as the Feast of the Purification among Christians. "Februa" was the month for cleansing, when Yule greens were removed from homes and churches, and old brush and debris were burned to prepare the fields for the next sowing. * February 2 is exactly halfway between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. Oh, about those groundhogs: If they see their shadows, expect six more weeks of winter. February 2 -- Full Snow Moon * Usually the heaviest snows fall in February. Hunting becomes very difficult, and hence to some Native American tribes this was the full Hunger Moon. See more full Moon names. http://www.almanac.com/go/ofanews.01300707c February 10 -- View Saturn * This month's headliner is Saturn, which reaches opposition today, when it is brightest and at its nearest point of the year. It rises at sunset and is out all night. With a small telescope you can easily see the rings. February 12 -- Abraham Lincoln's Birthday * Lincoln was born in a one-room log cabin on Nolin Creek in Kentucky. A complete time line of his life is posted at The History Place http://www.almanac.com/go/ofanews.01300707d In addition to his more famous achievements, Lincoln is the only U.S. president to have received a U.S. patent, for something he described in this way: "A new and improved manner of combining adjustable buoyant air chambers with a steamboat or other vessel for the purpose of enabling their draught of water to be readily lessened to enable them to pass over bars, or through shallow water, without discharging their cargoes." * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * HOME REMEDIES * Cold Cures CALENDAR * Candlemas/Groundhog Day * Full Snow Moon * Saturn Watch * Abraham Lincoln's Birthday RECIPES * Glogg * Real Hot Chocolate * Fruit Root Soup * Winter Chicken-Mushroom Soup GARDENING * Winter Gardening * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * DO YOU HAVE THE SNIFFLES? It's true: Hot chicken soup and lots of garlic help reduce cold symptoms. Modern science now backs that up. Try Granny's Best Chicken Soup from our archives. http://www.almanac.com/go/ofanews.01300707b And some studies suggest that virtually any way to inhale steam is beneficial. So, savoring a steaming cup of herbal tea may be a good idea. Other home remedies said to prevent colds in the first place are: garlic, onions, thyme, sage, and vitamin C, used regularly. Or, if you dare, a daily sandwich of whole-wheat bread, raw yellow onion, a half-inch of horseradish, slice of meat, cheddar cheese, and brown mustard. According to old-timers, this really works! Sincerely, The Old Farmer's Almanac P.S. Forward this e-mail to a friend. It's a quick and easy way to let someone know all the news at Almanac.com. * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

sub heading: Up front and personal with only the facts! Behind the curtain as this veteran reports first hand......
This veteran reports of the Tuesday January 23,2007. As the City Council closed their meeting last night, many veterans, bar owners, veteran post members from VFW, DAV,40/8,American Legion,Eagle members, and many others awaited anxiously for the return of councilman from their meeting. When the news was heard a yell of anger, upset, and close to riots started. The council voted and passed the new law, which takes effect, as of today! A flurry of rage from bar owners, Restaurant owners, veterans organazations, Moose members, Eagle Members, even the Odd Fellows lodge and many others, who had awaited the news, that would affect them dearly. I was shocked myself at the passing of the new city law. Many were very highly upset, especially when they found out, that none of the refinements were added and won't be. The new law? ALL SMOKING WILL BE OUTLAWED, ON THE STREETS, RESTAURANTS, BARS,BOWLING ALLEYS,VETERANS LODGES, NON PROFIT LODGES(BINGO HALLS, EAGLES LODGES,ELKS LODGES, ETC) THE COUNCIL PASSED IT WITH FLYING COLORS, 1 SUSTAINED - 1 VOTED NAY! I personally thought, that their was going to be a "neck tie party"then and their. As I took in the facts, many asked me the question why? I answered them, "I am a veteran myself, and feel our rights, as well as others, have been taken away once again, all of us veterans of yesterday and today lost a lot of friends, family, relatives and school mates had died for nothing!" Those who cheered for the law, were starting to harass and yell at those who were upset at the outcome, man, I thought was going to be a bad situation and somebody was going to get hurt! As I looked around at the faces, body language, and eyes, I thought oh boy, this is going to get somebody killed! Believe it or not, even a motorcycle club came in to help quell the anger, possible riots, and hate that seethed outside the council chambers! Of course the cops had their riot gear on and night sticks to use if needed. This city has 358,000 population and everyone it seemed, was glued to the radio, tv and telephones. Lol what a mess! This veteran writer was upset himself, but contained myself from doing anything rash - not a good thing! The hardest part to swallow was, that the council had shown their teeth and their true colors to everyone, and was going to the State Governor Mitch Danials, who already has a law, he and Congressman Souder have been working on for the whole state. Its even worse. Anyway they are (the council members) to propose and back the Governors bill also. And me? I am not Republican nor Democrat, I am an independant voter, I split my ticket, although I lean toward one particular party. It is sad that the results turned out the way they did - had they supplemented their additions to the law, I would, nor anyone else would have said much about it. The way it was presented was that supplements would be added to the new law- it failed! Now everyone is highly strung on the decision to ban the smoking law. All that money that restaurant owners etc. made to divide smoking and non smoking areas is now gone in the wind. A lot of money had been put out by restaurant owners, non-profit organazations, etc. is all for nill. one restaurant owner said;" I spent $ 85,000.00 in renovations a year ago and now look whats happened"! I know, many non smokers are jumping up and down about the new law, but for those owners of restaurants, veterans organazations, non-profit organazations, etc. What of them? Their will be many who will not make it now, since the law - the smaller individual shop owners and tiny businesses will probably fall to the wayside now. It is a gloomy, situation for all those people like you and me that try to better ourselves and survive the way the world is today. Had the amendments been added as they should have, many would have walked away half-happy, but alas that is politics, and the "PEOPLE SPOKE AND NO ONE LISTENED', THEY VOTED AN RE-ELECTED THE SAME PEOPLE IN OFFICE! So who is to blame? Now they pay the penalty and many more on the way. You all have a wonderful day now! Ya hear? This reporter is signing off!

Okay, now ya can hang it up and scare the devil out of the rats! Someone requested the other picture titled: "The Thinker" taken also Saturday. A question was asked, why I did not use a recent hiking picture from last year!" Well, shucks folks, can't please everyone. Besides folks, where in tarnation ya gonna find another ugly pug like mine? Well now, you have a chance to see who your talking to, and what the world I look like. Let's see, by statistics I will probably lose half my friends, but if their true friends they will pity this poor old tired man and have a heart for "the ugly one"! OUT OF TOUCH OR CONTROLLED BY OTHERS? This is Going to be Controversial I Realize!
Some people in our society want to impart and destroy our inner perceptions & reality of nature. Many of us are prone to disappointments, refusals, rejections, and hurts & swept by waves of disillutions on a daily basis by people, government, taxes, politics, beliefs, and disbeliefs. Some of us try our best to make things right! Alas, many times a " so called friend or companion" slaps you back down! Some examples are:
1. Prayers have been removed from schools, public places, military, etc.
2. The word " GOD" - such as "IN GOD WE TRUST' - " UNDER GOD, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL"! Are now taboo...
3. Uninvited Aliens (illegal) etc. are receiving benefits and incentatives they never earned or worked for.
4. Native Americans pushed out of recognition and living in very poor conditions, that even a rat couldn't live in.
5. The ghettos in society for poor people and elderly, as well as the street sleepers (homeless)!
6. Our religious beliefs being attacked and trying to be annihilated by others.
7. We older folks being shoved to the back and shamed by society and left to die and forgotten!
8. Factories and jobs being transferred to other countries.
9. Freedom of Speech & Rights slowly being taken away as a small whisper in the wind and water flowing slowly down the mountainside.
These and many others are being taken away and buried under hidden paper work. As is our Forests, Wildlife, Animals, Conservation, etc. Under the " so called" progress and betterment of our neighborhoods and society! The common phrase among our "great society" - "The eyesores must be removed immediately"! Who are minorities now?Who are the "movers and shakers " today? Who controls the stock market etc. now? Who makes the laws now? Whatever happened to "union made products?" Have you ever walked down the street or drive by a place and business somewhere, and found a "union made" once and now what do you see? "Foreign made! Why has Insurance skyrocketed? Why are so many unemployed now? Why have State Governments slammed the doors to "People in need of help"? And yet, officials are re-elected, time and time again! When will we ever learn? Whatever happened to family values? Minor child discipline? Family closeness? All are gone now, or are disappearing off the face of the earth. We ask ourselves, " How can this happen"? Why did it happen? When did it happen? Why did it happen? Sure this is going to be a controversial blog & of course there are going to be those who will counter it and complain with comments about this blog, but lets stop and think about the few areas I have covered.Yes, it is the truth, and nothing but the truth, so help me GOD! (OOPS, FORGOT, YOU CAN'T USE THAT WORD ANYMORE) It is a sad day when all is truth, and no one wants to listen! OSIU all! I came home from bowling tonight and was rather down hearted as I was consistant in bowling, but lol, did not get my overall average. Our team won 4 games from a team that slaughtered us the first half. I was dissappointed in the way I bowled, but still kept a good sportsmanship face as usual. I did a little check on members pages here and got out of that stupid mood. I looked at some really beautiful, heartwarming, lovely, and some "good old fashioned laughter." Needless to say I perked up quite well. How many here have actually taken the time to check out fellow members pages lately? When I come here, it is a different world, their is always a lot of laughter, some good "Old Fashioned" fun and a whole lot of friendship that spreads in here. When I am in the blues mood, I often write or talk about something on other web sites I blog on. Here, tonight, I found a different world full of a lot of hugs, a lot of kisses, and a whole lot of companionship. How many here have actually read and studied other blogs and pages on this site? Even though, I am new the experiences here have been well maintained and given lots of worry free times. Of course this is me and my own little world of thoughts, but I confess, that their are some wonderful pages, that many of you have put a lot of time into. As example I went to LOTUS'S page and seen the changes their. Wow! Way to cool. I may not be spelling things well tonight, but just wanting to place my thoughts here and maybe others can follow. I could rate the top 10 pages tonight I have seen or visited and that would be a good thing. There are many wonderful pages here, if one takes the time to look at them, but I haven't even touched the edge of the iceberg yet, their are over 3 thousand members here. What a great group. I think maybe we ought to have a top 10 page choice each month on who has the best pages. I mean folks, shucks, their are so many great pages. The elders taught me once many moons ago, about looking into a painting, picture, story, or poem and see" What is their, but what is not their!" "What is the author or artist trying to express?" I have found it a great benefit to actually look into these articles, art forms, paintings, thoughts, and blogs. Many express their selves well and often I ponder and dwell upon the subject, and can scrutinize the most minescule overlooked thing. I criticize no ones art forms, but look deep into a painting and pin point something so obviously to one who has studied and learned. Especially if it is Native American. I was once asked: "As a poet and short story Laureate, how can you define a persons thoughts or read between the lines"? I often reply, "I don't know, I just do!" I was once at a Art Museum and was really looking deep into some paintings their, and a guard came along and had to remove me from the paintings, as the Art Museum had closed a half an hour before, Man, was I embarrassed! Sometimes that happens, it is like a trance at times, and sometimes can place you in a very weird predicament, and at times very embarrassing! Anyway, it is a unique experience for one who takes the time to see what is around them...Well folks, have a good week end and "May the spirits guide and protect you and yours always, may you walk in peace and forest light"! Stay healthy and enjoy your weekend.......

Whoaaaa! Ever tried to welcome new members into newblog? Lol, you click on their names to send a welcome message and up comes Insurance advertisements, car advertisements, casino advertisements etc, but few names....Is it me, my computor, or just plain silliness? Either those that have joined are spamming hidden behind a name or else they playing "hide and seek"! And so it begins once again, a changing of cycles, as that of life. Winter has finally arrived here, with rising rivers, streams, sleet, snow, freezing rain, all is coming to pass. As once our elders and fore fathers foraged and forged through the wet and cold as does life's many long steps we also must take. The changing of the seasons also marks the beginning of (as old as time) a new life for many being born this day. Of those who have gone before, thus, so shall we grow older, wiser, smarter, and fore see that which we try to prepare for! As the Sun sets, The Moon rises, the Forests and trees must sleep, as the stars get dimmer, as must some animals bed down for their long winters nap. And so the cycle begins again and earth mother lies down with her children and teach them to grow and refruit, to teach them their greater qualitys they possess. The cold winds blow and to help shed their skins, their leaves, as then the new cycle begins for them as well. The ill winds also travel with the good winds and brings our rivers, waters, streams, mountains, grass, fields, into a slumbering freeze! Another day is done, another son is born, a new daughter faces the pace and will one day take another place somewhere in time. So does man continue it's destruction on the once sacred and sanctified ground, that once harbored much food and bounty and the caretakers of the land were destroyed or pushed to poorer and desolate lands. I weep for those things that were once cherished and shed the tears for those who will, now never see the light of life, nor experiance that which I once experianced as a lad. The freedom of the trees and farm, the pastures ever so green, the streams so clear and cool. the animals so strong and free, the hunters only killing for what was in need, to feed there familys and plant their seeds upon the land and can the fruit and vegetables by hand for further use to to survive the harsh winters that would come! Sharing that with others when they had a bad year and comfort those in need beyond the family needs of others. And so the furs, the pelts were used for clothing and the neighbors a mile or so away. In these eyes I have seen many things throughout my days, I have travelled and fought side by side with soldiers I knew not! These old eyes have seen so much and yet so little, I have journeyed long and the paths I once travelled are now growing dimly in my mind. As windmills turned the rivers and their wheels spun out the the waters to produce much needed water, oats and wood. And yet we were conservative and and used only what was needed. Our crops and harvests were shared with one another..,Today I visited my past and found the thing I most cherished as a lad, nothing more than houses, mobile homes and more. All was gone, where once stood proud trees, green pastures, and teeming life, was nought but long gone! A time and place where nothing is left but memories, feelings, and harmony. The 950 acres of love had been extenguished by a land hungary real estater, who made his money by destroying all that was once good! Only the house run down now by years and unkept, but I am sure it and the one last remaining tree, I myself, had planted many moons ago as a lad, just seemed to rise and say hello then forever farewell! As me, they have seen in their own way the beginning and the end! As I turned to leave I do believe the tree raised it's final branch in its final wave of goodbye. I touched the tree and wept, my tears fell into the ground, and knew the old house and tree had survived for this last time, and had fore seen my final coming, as I started to get into my car a loud crash I heard, it scared me and I went into defensive mode and looked to see what has caused the crash, it was the old house that had come crashing down, where the tree branch had broken and splintered and caused the old house to fall, and thus I knew that it was true the whispers in the wind that told me of what I had suspected. As i drove away remembering those many memories of many, many, moons ago where life began, and for those memories washed away in the final parting of the ways! Yet, my memories will remain forever unto my grave. Life will never be the same, but the love of once young lad , will never be able to pass unto his own young lads and girls. And another cycle passes on with the love and hard work, I once did. Farewell to my old friends that was once teeming on the land and now man has come upon you once again, but the memories will always remain! These old eyes travel on, but the past will never come again, as I learned, never go back into the past, it is done! New life has, although, unwanted, has come again!

A LOOK BACK TO 2006 ON RANDOM THINGS ........ A LOOK BACK TO 2006 ON RANDOM THINGS ........ magnify 2006 has come and gone - Enter 2007. What lies ahead, is uncertain! Reviews of last year, I can only contemplate... Some of the things that went down with the state and local goverments! The word God, Jesus,Christmas & other similar words were removed from many stores, business, and private homes. The Mayors pay was raised, from $100,000.00 to $120,000.00.Councilmen and women passed a raise in pay twice last year, all voted yeah for both pay raises, 2 voted against both pay raises. Guess who voted against? Yep the only two different party members. It is one sided in both City and County Councils, that has been that way for years. People are still ignorant in the way they vote, it has always been one sided in the local races, but hey, these people don't give a damnn anyway. They raised our taxes once again! 2 votes against once again, guess who? SKIPPING ALONG: The Governor, & State House of Congressmen and Representatives, were raised 25% more in their payroll. 15 schools being closed down here in the city by 2010.The one school the city and county received a big kickback from that deal, you believe it? Our one illustrious Senator pushed it and then trying and still trying to shut down the VA Hospital here.Guess what? All the culprits involved - RE-ELECTED! WHATS THAT TELL YOU? Senior Citizens, veterans, & low income families benefits, are being whacked down again -in March last year, the government, nailed Military retirees again, by extending their retirement pay and benefits from age 60 to age 65(rumor states they are trying now to adopt non collection until age 70), oh well, people don't care. right? Veterans are "has beens" not worth their salt" Old farts just taking from our Government and stealing our younger peoples rights! How many times you heard that one? The local Councilman introduced a bill locally that bans all smoking in public, including, on the street, and you can only smoke in your house or backyard. It is now taking affect (gee, they snuck it past us all, without telling the people) another session that is misc. town hall meeting about stronger and banning other editions to bill against smoking is taking place later this month. WOW! Talk about slick....to late to ban against the main bill-our fantastic Council already passed it. Hmmmm strange huh? A plan in council is being discussed for the 18th time on moving the Minor League Stadium up town. The problem is, No Place To Park & small business's being forced to close their doors after many years in their location or reopen elsewhere. The State Govornor is trying to pass a bill, with re-elected Congressman Souder,To close down approximately 4 Refuges to sell the property to build a strip mall and or allow a business to open up, the second bill being pushed by them is Anyone caught smoking in their vehicles along the highways, caught tossing their butts out the window are fined $ 500.00! A raise in minimum wages is being increased $ 2.00 to $ 3.00 more, but County Taxes will be taken out or added to your pay check. 12 Military Armories and PX'S will be closed by May 2007. Gee , guess we veterans have to go all the way to Columbus Ohio now to buy goods their.Wouldn't advise you to buy meats, milk or items needed frozen to bring back-it would spoil quickly. Gas, alcohol, store goods, tobacco, etc. tax will be raised 3% by July 2007. Small business loan interest upgraded to 2% more - 1% to State. Large Manufacturing Companies, that locate their business here, will receive a huge break in taxes & incentitives that will be discussed privately. The State Government has passed a bill to sell the toll road to outside country. They will be 80% manned by their own people. Golly, wonder what will happen to those folks already manning it? New highways will be built to link the Midwest, Canada, Mexico, and other states - homeowners taxes were raised to support these new highways by new tax raises in 2006. The state will also receive funds from the toll road and thus the toll was raised again and understand when new people take over toll road , that an agreement is being drawn up between state officials and foreign country representatives privately. The Governor has closed down more bureau of motor vehicle offices and now those cities whose motor vehicle offices were closed down, will now have to go to the nearest city to purchase plates. A majority of VA care facilities, including some VA hospitals will be shut down and closed by State, by order of Govenor of State. State Welfare and job force locations will be cut back to the minimum ! You want more? No wonder we are called"Land of Taxes!" as this state is called and nicknamed ... What will 2007 bring? Who knows - as the winds blow & leaves float, alas, so does more frustration, higher blood pressure, more headaches, and more government controls. And they say: "America has freedom"? With many re-elected officials, once again taking their seats, as people seemed in a stupor once again in the recent elections, they never learn nothing! Oh well. no matter the outcome, I would rather live here anytime, than in another country. These are just my thoughts, as the last election has proven, no one gives a damn, nor cares! As the last election has proven again, people don't worry about their money they will pay out in higher interest and taxes. let bills be passed in congress throughout the State, Local, and Federal levels. Who cares? The people sure don't and I don't want them bitching when they fall on their faces from their choices, our people are so blind in this state and local area, it is sickening, but that is okay wait until all your rights are taken then come see me, by then its to late! For now, I guess we just "buck up" and deal with, whatever, comes along ! "HAVE A WONDERFUL AND HAPPY 2007"!

A SMALL PEEP INTO MY INNER SHAMINISM A SMALL PEEP INTO MY INNER SHAMINISM magnify Shaman is a term referenced to: Occult people, such as, medicine men, witches, wise ones, healers, and ones own feelings into their perspective special gifted areas, for purpose of healing, or divination. " The ancient ways have not stopped working, we have stopped the working of ancient ways". The term"SHAMENISM" in todays world is not associated with negative titles listed above. The word "SHAMAN" means: " A man or woman who is able to to alter their state of consciousness (trance) for traveling into a 'Spiritual Journey' into other plains, journey or dimensions, to gain knowledge or powers to help others." During these journeys or quests, one is guided by " Spirit Helpers"(guides) to accomplish their work, rather it is a he or she. The work of finding knowledge and wisdom is an integral part of the shaman. Many of us are born with it & fear it at first, when it first manifests in us. After our " passage of rights", we learned through trial & error on control and management of these gifts from the "Great Creator" (God)! A few were lucky, whom was guided by the great tribal elders or shamans. Unfortunately, as myself, we pretty much learned on our own. Many of us that were gifted, hated it, but also understood, it was for the betterment of the tribe or all mankind. In our ancestors, the shaman, male/female were the first and primary line of defense against - Illness, chaos, and other things in our own tribe or culture. Their skills were many, including a tribes fore - seer, healing the ill, guidance, etc. Their powers of divination gave future sight for the tribes well-being. A shaman has 3 main purposes - healing, accessing new and ancient knowledge, & fore-seeing the future. Although, many shaman are familiar with all of theses and more, normally, shaman have a special field of expertise. The fields of expertise is determined by his/her natural abilities and amount of spirits helping them. An inbalance can occur, when they lose their soul to evil, or loss of a " powerful animal spirit"! With that loss, one loses harmony in the body, mind, or soul. Shaman must go into "exploratory reserve" to seek out the knowledge hidden inside a persons layer of skin, if they can pin point ones problem, but if a shaman has not the right type or number of spirit helpers, then they must send the sick or injured soul to another shaman, known for his/her specialty healing power of the noted "specialist of determination" in that particular disease or illness. For me, I am noted as a "Broken Arrow" (half shaman-half warrior)I allign with 5 "power/totem spirits"! My native american name depicts my specialty in shamanistic terms. In which, I never understood, until, long after my "rite of passage". My Native American name is very sacred to me, and very few know it. I was one of those whom, "should have been born before". What the future holds for my special gifts & me are yet to be determined, "What will be, will be"! I hope that I may have enlightened some of you, without breaking the "Code of my Ancestors",although, be it, I am only 1/3 Cheyenne/Sioux.

Blog: HOW ABOUT OUR CONCERNS ? Thomas has received 105 new, 637 total stars from Care2 members Thomas has been awarded 205 butterflies for taking action at Care2 Thomas H. HOW ABOUT OUR CONCERNS 9:16 AM What concerns do we as group members, care2 members, and private lives concerns us the most. We often forget our true feelings on and off the stage! We sometimes dramatize our thoughts through our speech, communications, and body language. What true concerns are we really feeling? Do we care about Wildlife, Conservation, Human and animal rights, environment, waters, mountains, fields, farmers, Global warming, space, science, religions, tribal laws, teaching our young, protecting Mother Earth , etc. or are we really fantasizing and just wanting attention? How often do we really get involved? Are we truly ourselves? How about our Troops? War, hatred, politics and their games? True warm feelings on our part toward others? Those mentally and handicapped folks and kids in wheelchairs, trying their best to prove they can do many things we can? Do you feel sorry for those inflicted with disease and rotting away? Our elders, who =, many are placed in group homes and senior citizens localities because we take not the time to deal with them or in that line of thinking, do not want to hear what they have to say? The druggies and the drunks? Who really cares? How often do we as people, really think? Are we doing all we can? Do we support their true needs? Can we actually say, we do all that is necessary? What achievements and thoughts have come to center in our society? These many questions and more surface everyday. Our lives are so busy in this fast-paced world, we rarily stop to think about them. The sadness and heartfelt soul-searching is often as not brought out or thought about. "You see that is my job, so when I am through for the day, I don't think about those things"! I bet you heard that one, or thought about it yourself... What message do we impart to others? Are we truly true blue to ourselves and others? Sometimes we soul search and find the answers and yet, other times are to bashful or ashamed of what we do not understand. What we do with our lives, is solely up to us. We seek answers, but can not penetrate the smoke and haze that surrounds us. Like our Goverment, many times they will throw out a tidbit here and their, but place the fog and mist in front of us to be blinded by the true message that is their! We search through curiosity and knowledge, but at the same time, we seek what we want and not what others seek. We are a protective species and zealously guard our most private and inter most lives! We attempt to make goals and try to make a difference, but does anyone really pay attention? We have and always will face trials and tribulations in this restless and free state of affairs we are in today. What is right? What is wrong? Go around or sidestep? How about our concerns? Are we really ready to listen? I think not! For we are what we are!!!!! Only human and think of ourselves, weak, strong, emotional, all these and more, for what it's worth.... TO LIVE & FIGHT NO OTHER DAY(from my soldiers journal 1972) TO LIVE & FIGHT NO OTHER DAY(from my soldiers journal 1972) magnify
Blog: TO LIVE & FIGHT NO OTHER DAY(from soldiers journal 1972) "To ride on ones feet, is tiresome, but to helped or carried off a battlefield, after a fight is an achievement"! After the battle, it became a clear summer day. The blue sky , dropped low over the level land so green. THE SUN WAS HANGING OVERHEAD, A LULL IN BATTLE. I heard the music flowing through the valley, and heard drumbeats in unison-not missing a beat, the trumpets blared, the sound in the distance of armies clashing, horses neighing, screams of death & desolation, clanging swords & metal, pounding feet, and wounded crying, and then everything was dark & I heard nothing more! I awoke upon on the morning after battle-War axe and Sword in hands! Awakened by the flowing stream and cascading waterfalls, the wooded forest was lovely this time of year! The ever-swaying trees, the breeze, the smell of pine, the purple & blue haze surrounding the distant mountains, the softness of the grass I lay upon, the rippling rainbows flowing off the waterfalls above, and the ever-widening circles in the water, slapping against the shores. In the forest, the animals came to drink; the deer, the fox, the beaver, the wolf, the birds, all living in harmony! The only noises I heard, was just the wind flowing through the leaves, of course the trickling water flowing, flowing, so softly & the fish flopping, a bear was standing in the whispering stream and eating all the fish he could..,The other discernible sounds were sweet and lush, the leaf falling next to me, the birds chattering in the morning breeze! Ahhh, the pleasant smells existing all at once, pine, magnolia, lavender, mountain laurals, wild flowers and butterflies, showing their magnificiance in their bright colors & flitting to & fro. With the sweet breeze, one could see the flowers bending and swaying, spreading the pollen back & forth. All these and more I seen! The sounds of battle I heard no more. I heard not death, nor smelled the blood upon the battleground, nor sweat of those who fought! Who had won they or us? Who survived? How much destruction? How much death? How much desolation? I looked into the clouds as they began to part & a great golden light appeared! A huge pair of hands reached down and scooped me upon a Great White Horse, then nothing, nothing evermore and all was gone.... OF GREAT MINDS AND DREAMS OF GREAT MINDS AND DREAMS magnify
Blog: OF GREAT MINDS AND DREAMS
men.bmpmen.bmpmen.bmp
men.bmp The minds of great men come and go. In One life and Century, to another. We walk in step and shadow of many greats of long ago! We often think the "the mind is a wonderful thing, and so be it!" We often place ourselves in anothers footstep from the past, present, or future. What we admire in traits of another, is often programmed into thoughts of another time, place, century, or age. The accountability of ones mind can travel in dreams of the past and present, but at the same time, can self-center itself in ones own thoughts of the mind! We each and all have dreams of one sort or another, and some achieve that which they dream of... On the other hand, one can deem it necessary to follow that others mind and fail in that mindlessness of his/hers they that admire them. A mind is a wonderful thing when used appropriately in the basis of life, can be very enjoyable, by just being who you are and not what you are not! The mind is like a computor, it remembers, calculates, warns, logical, pain, deelings, and can be as a computor virus and wipe out all thoughts of humanity and destroys ones heart easily. The mind can wind and rewind as a movie does, but yet can also be injured, destroyed, and wiped clean through everyday things we do. When one reaches inside him/her they can often hide themselves from reality and fantisize in their minds of many different things. As in dreams, one travels or journeys afar and long miles of memory are recorded for another time or place. Many time the wisdom and knowledge gained can be a lifesaver and help. When one is having problems one way or another, they can always find someone who has been their before. An old saying is; " A mind is a dangerous thing" and that by all means is true, if used incorrectly! Bad judgements and calls can cause a very wide rippling affect on many," all around you" rahter family, friends, relatives, or enemies... The mind is like a dream in many ways, without it, their is no functionig of the brain, and without the brain, the mind, body, and soul is nothing, nil, none existant. The creative mind can be a wonderful thing to have. It can create a thought of doing, did it, and done it, in several different capacitys. Weather it be for the human race, four legged kind, spiritual kind, naturewise or worldwide, it is up to the individual that is not afraid to be ones self. ' TO BE AS ME AND NOT AS ME IS THE UPMOST AND FOMIDABLE KEY OF TIME! "Judge not another or ye be judged the same!" Unfortunately we see some of this on care 2 and judge another, but without the full =reading into what is posted, we sometimes misjudge! Isn't the mind a wonderful thing? TomH
