Well My son had his surgery. Went super. We left home at 4 am, got there at 5:45, in surgery by 8, back home by Noon.

The great thing is that he actually got to go back to school! Yes, after another month of being at home he returned. He loves school. In fact he loves it so much that when he had a snow day on Thursday and Friday, he was upset.

Sorry it had been a whle, but we are just getting back into the swing of things. Why do they start school so early in the mornings anyway? ha ha

A few months ago, my husband's brother( who had been missing for about 9 years) was invited to stay in our basement as an alternative to the Nashville streets. We had talked about the concessions that would have to be made, and were comfortable with being able to handle them. 3 months later we sit here thinking.... "What were we thinking?"

We used to have a freezer full of a full bar, all the drinks you could want could be made from our freezer. Today I went and crushed 60 beer cans that appeared since THURSDAY!

He insists on having the door open at all times. This wind comes straight up the laundry chute making out bedroom a veritable hurricane zone. We have addressed this with him, no change.

He has a dog. We have dogs. The difference is, my dogs are house trained and under 20 pounds. His is a 60 pound Rottweiler/Labrador mix. and apparently she does no wrong, so the piles of dog turds must fall from the ceiling.

We have been dealing okay with all of this. Until today that is. I went down to get a fire ready for the cold weather pushing this way, only to see a peculiar water jug. Upon further inspection, visual, not nasal, it is apparently a makeshift urinal.

So we took him off the street, gave him a bed, lights, heat, cable TV and somewhere to call home. He sleeps on the floor, leaves the door open, watches TV and pisses in a jug. You can take the man out of the homeless, but you can't take the homeless out of the man.

SO Gavin should have had surgery yesterday, but didn't. He had a fever all night on Monday night. Take him to the doctor today only to find out he has PNEUMONIA!!!! SO not only can he not hear because of missing his surgery, he also can't breathe! What a way to start the new year off huh?

Christmas around here was as nice as it could be. Considering the lack of funds:D Gavin got lots of stuff, which is the important part. What about you guys? What did you get that was cool?

Despite being more broken than a cat's tail in a room full of rockers, my Christmas holiday turned out well. Not too many presents, which means not too much stuff cluttering up my house! This is a good thing. My son, though, he got the coolest toys ever, but EVERYONE ( except Santa) forgot batteries! SO the kid had to sit all through everything, looking at his toys with no way to play with them. Poor kid.

I guess this is yet another blogging site. Eventually there will be one to come around to challenge mySpace. I will stick around for a bit to see how this one works out.

Turns out that I already have a friend! Thanks Noel!
