Yesterday I finally got around to watching "Rory O'Shea Was Here" (Alternate title is "Inside I'm Dancing") starring the incredibly talented James McAvoy and it was really wonderful. You are a True Metalhead. . It was sad, funny, heartbreaking and wonderfully uplifting as well. 1. . James was brilliant (as always)and his co-star, Steven Robertson, was AMAZING! Neither of them are disabled but you would never know it! Basically it's about a free-spirited young man called Rory O'Shea (James) who suffers from Muscular Dystrophy and his best friend, Michael (Steven) who suffers from Cerebral Palsy and their attempts to live just like everyone else. The writing was very smart, and really did a good job of conveying what it must be like for someone whose mind is still working just fine but who is trapped inside a body that is deteriorating. Very powerful and yet, funny and inspiring as well.Great movie, great acting...pretty much great all around!.

I finally finished downloading the second season of Hex and can I just say that it is a bit of a let down after season one. I mean, ok, so I knew Azazeal was a fallen angel...and I knew that with the whole possession thing going for him he was not exactly Prince Charming, but DUDE...Season 2 comes along and he goes all BIG BAD on me and I am like "BITCH PLEASE!" Why can't he just be gorgeous and mildly evil? How about incredibly hot and yet, just really misunderstood and in need of redemption? Huh? How about that? No...instead his hotness remains in full effect and he goes all Angelis! They make him wear the long-haired wig, snug 17th century trousers, knee lenth leather boots (guh) and a open-necked billowy pirate shirt and what is he doing while wearing it? TORTURING a poor, defenseless girl who is accused of witchcraft! (Of course she was actually a witch, but just not a bad one like he was making it out)... it just ruined my whole lust/fantasy! Bastard writers!AND THEN...as if that weren't enough of a bummer, they start writing Themla like a complete assface and they turn Ella (a character I had actually warmed up to) into a TOTAL HEARTLESS BITCH who was willing to sell her soul, let mankind go to Hell (literally) and dump her TOTALLY devoted and sweetly adorable boyfriend because her vagina is drawn to Malichi...son of Azazeal,(didn't get his looks from his dad that's for damn sure!BLECH!), devil spawn who is sent to take over the world, who she was more than willing to murder when he was an innocent baby. Yes, he is the being she is sworn to kill, the one she has been hacking her way through history trying to keep from being born for 500 years and now...suddenly she wants to go down on him instead! WTF!?! !HELL NO!The writers really dropped the ball in season 2 and it is a shame. The show had potential and if they had kept Azazeal ambiguous and if they had kept the female characters true to their original selves all could have been well and interesting, but sadly they didn't and I am kind of glad that it got axed after only 2 seasons. Also, I am glad that Michael Fassbender was gone by the time the really crap writing started. He was too good for that crap!

My sister called me on Sunday to tell me that my grandmother had died that morning. She was 92 and had been VERY bad off for a long time, and even though I was expecting it, it was still unexpected in a way. I didn't know my grandmother well, as I was the youngest and we had moved away from MA by the time I was born, so I don't think it has hit me as hard as it had my siblings. It did, however, bring up memories of losing my mom which is still very painful for me. I like to to think that my mom and my grandmother are together now, which is nice and comforting, but it's still a hard thing to deal with. I feel guilty too for not really wanting to go to the funeral but I just really want to remember her the way she was and I don't want to have to deal with another funeral. Every funeral I have been too since my mom died has been a lot harder than they used to be and if I don't have to put myself in that situation I'd rather now. Does that make me a horrible person? Probably! So, this week has started off on a really shitty note and it just got better...NOT...I come back from the pool with the kids this afternoon and all seems well. Then, Daniel hands me the mail and what do I see in it? A summons for jury duty...AGAIN, only this time it's FEDERAL COURT! CAN YOU FUCKING BELIEVE THIS SHIT!?!Last June I got a summons for county jury duty and it was for July so I wrote to the clerk of courts and told them very politely that I would like to serve but since I have two children under the age of (at that time) 11, I couldn't serve unless I left them at home by themselves all summer...because HELLO...they are out of school! So they were very nice about it and sent me a deferment until September...and then they never called me. So NOW, I had to write another letter, this time to the federal court clerk explaining that since school is out and my children are at home I can't serve. Please pray that they also see reason and excuse me, because if they don't I have no fucking clue what I am going to do with the kids. Jeff can't just take off work whenever he wants and if I get picked to serve who knows how long I could actually be sitting on a jury. Not to mention the fact that if you don't get excused there is a 6-week period in which you can be called to serve...you just have to wait and see if they need you. Ummm...NO! You can't do that when you have kids! You have to KNOW something so you can make plans if you are able to. Not that Jeff would be able to take off 6-weeks but still!I am so pissed off right now. This is the 5th time I have been called. The first time I was still single and had no kids so I served, no problem. I enjoyed it. Then, a year later they called me again and I would have ben willing to serve but you can't serve on a jury if you have served less than two years before. The third time they called me I had just given birth to Daniel and was breast feeding and then they called me last year. WHAT THE HELL IS IT ABOUT ME THAT THEY LIKE SO MUCH!?!!!I mean,Jesus! Isn't there anyone else in the fucking county who can serve besides me?! Why do they want me so badly?Anyway, if anyone is actually reading this...pray that they excuse me because I need all the help I can get!!
