ok so i always said it was the little tiny kids that made me so sick during student teaching, not the big kids...and once again those little heathens have done it. i've been there 3 days and i've gotten strep throat. the good news i suppose is that im now on antibiotics and will not be contagious starting tmo. the bad news is that i feel like poo and won't be able to go to see my sister's show at the high school tonight or tmo night.

so today has been an amazing day....i cant even begin to describe it. first, at 5:45 i got called to teach.....6am, erin came up to tell me she was in labor, but thought it would be a while so just check on her from school. then at about 7:15, angela gay called and the baby was on its way....within an hour the doctor said. so i cancelled teaching and went to the hospital. well, that little girl has spunk and she slowed down and relaxed for a bit. ....at 11:58 (after 2 hard hours of pushing...i was counting and squeezing and coaching, along with angela gay and dee dee) grace erin michelle northup was born. woo! what a beautiful baby. i've never been present during a birth and let me say it looked both excruciating and wonderful at the same time. i was crying by the time she finally decided it was her time to be out in the world. after a couple hours of happy time with erin and the baby, i came home and got a call from cheryl....well, i was offered a teaching position for the rest of the year. i'm in as a sub, but until the end of school--in june. cheryl said she hates to lose me on her list, because i'll go anywhere, but this is better for me. im going to be teaching title I at hodgesville to Kindergarten, first, and second graders. now, normally i dont like those little ones...BUT the difference here is i will go in to a classroom and help for a while, do small group instruction for a bit, and mix it up in between. the best part is the kids that were my student teaching first graders...are second graders there. i adore the kindergarten and first grade teachers, and have a lot of respect for and from the others there...including the principal. this is the principal that told me if she had her choice she'd hire me for the 2nd grade job that was new this year. YAY! i'm so excited! and on top of that, things are looking up in other areas of my life as well....im really excited about saturday, with one exception. i have to miss a few hours of basketball. im now starting to coach a team as well as scoring/bookkeeping for the league. WOO! and im super dorky but hey, im enjoying every minute of it ;) as of right now i'm going away for the next weekend...the 14/15/16 and im excited about that. im happier right now than ive been in a long time. yay! hopefully it lasts!
