Most of my Canadian friends are surprised that Bush appears to be winning.I am surprised that they are surprised!!Personally, I will be shocked as shit if Kerry takes it. It's Christmas Time!. . Also, why do some of the Americans seem so perturbed over foreign interest in this election? They spend the rest of these four years trying to convince us that they're big and bad and relevant and then get upset when we express opinions on who should win tonight?.

I'm having deja vu here. Again, let's see a show of hands: How many people are honestly shocked? Honestly. I'm not asking if you're happy, just if you're genuinely surprised.During the US election, all I saw on my FL were posts about how much everyone hates Bush and how excited they were to see him toppled. After the election, it was nothing but shock and outrage. People were absolutely in awe of the results. Personally, I never thought Kerry had a chance. Now I'm seeing the same thing again (although ppl are more split on who they thought would win, mostly Liberal though). Tell me at least some of you saw this coming from a mile away even if you didn't like it?

Oh LJ... If the way your friends vote tmr is really going to be the deciding factor in whether or not the friendship continues, it never existed in the first place. I should hope that you're building relationships on more than just identical voting habits. I know a lot of ppl who share my political views but suck and a lot who don't but are still decent friends. And honestly, what kind of quality citizen is really going to change their vote just to stay on your FL? Personally, I'm not going to lose sleep trying to figure out who voted which way nor do I have any plans to make dramatic LJ cuts after I read my list tmr. Vote for whomever you want and don't worry about justifying it to me. It's a secret ballot and I can't say I'll care if you want to keep it that way.
