2. Information technology ( Printing Made easy With Samsung CLP- 300N) Posted 1/24/2007 4:37:55 AM For Christmas, the Technews Lab was given color with one of Samsung's Laser Printers- the CLP- 300N. Though it has that typical "printer", look, it is a user-friendly office equipment. When the CLP-300N arrived at the lab, we were surprised to see that, again it came w/o a driver and no documentation,just like the previous printer they lent us. It's either Samsung forgot to p[ut it back when they checked it or they want to challenge us in setting up their printers. But in any case, we just downloaded the driver at www.samsung.com. We were also impressed with the ink cartridge that came with the CLP-300N. Unlike the typical wide, diamond- shaped toner-cartidges, this one uses four cylinder shaped toner cartidges (each color- yellow, blue, magenta and black - has it own cartidges inside the printer reminds me of fururistic movies where one character places fuel cells inside a machine. The shape of the printer is similar to laser printers that came out a few years ago - a box-shaped office equipment that intimidates users thinking that it may be hard to operate. Unlike other laser printers, it onlyhas one button located on top which functions depend on how it is pressed. Above that button are four color cartidge indicators that basically tell you if the ink is low. There is also the Status LED indicators that lights up green when operating. The CLP-300N doesn't have a display screen that will tell you what is happening while you are printing. The CLP-300N can be used as a network printer connected to an Ethernet cable or connected to a PC through USB port. For a changed, wedecided to connect the printer to a Linux PC. We just assumed that the printer is compatible with Windows,Mac, and Linux systems, and good thiong it was- as long as you have the right driver. we also skipped the test of it as a network printer but we're probably sure that would not be a problem for the CLP-300N. The said software, along with Microsoft Office 2007, is set rto be launched nationwide January of this year,as revealed at the Windows Vista Media boot Camp last December 7 & 8, 2006. "One of the reasons why it took long for Microsoft to come up with a new version of windows because we really took pain to incorporate what the customers and our partners had told us," said Chay Mondejar-Saputil, Windows client Product Manager. " We have remained consistent with the perception of security which is really an industry Problem." Windows Vista is said to offer a more secure operating enviranment campare to previous windows versions, aside from its stunning Graphical User Interface (GUI). Microsoft's goal for Vista is to protect its consumers against security threats and reduce the risk of bussiness interruption. With Windows Vista, IT managers are now provided with features like the bitlocker Drive Encryption and Encrypting File System, which p[rotects users from data loss of theft. Microsoft has also incorporated within Vista inbound and outbound personal firewall that enables users to prevent, detect and remove malware before it causes problems w/o having to call for administration support. Internet browsing is also more secure with the new Internet Explorer 7. Regular home users are also assured with tyhe user-friendlier interface with Windows Vista, especially with parents who want to contro the Internet Use of their children. Parents are able to set time restrictions to limit the PC usage of their children through the parental control feature. It also has an improved Search Index Tool which allow users to search for files or programs easily. The User Account Control is another added feature in Vista that helps stop unauthorized changes to your computer by members of the family or by other people. "We've done study wherein we found out that we've never communicated with the average Filipino Consumer on the benefits of operating system detached to the hardware ," said Ivan Franco, Consumer Marketing Manager for Microsoft. "This has become one of the challenges. And as a company, it is our responsibility to teach and educate the consumers because they haven't really brought out the potential of their software through their hardware." This year, Microsoft experience Centers will be put up in strategic locations that will accompany the relese of Vista and Office 2007. My Family Posted 12/5/2006 4:35:51 AM In our family, we composed of six members. My name of my mother is Ofelia Guinto, and my father is Jose S. Guinto. We are 4 childrens in the family, my eldest brother is an mechanical Engineer and his name is Gilbert he became 23 years old in December 12, then my next brother is Gary he will be graduating student in the course of Marketing and he will be 21 years old next year January 14. And me is the 3rd children and i'm still studying at Valenzuela Polythecnic College. And our bunso name Girlie she was studying at Lawang Bato Elementary School and she was 9 years old. Our family is not totally happy now, but i don't want to say why we are not happy. But i'm wish someday that my Family become a great family in all.Our province is in Pampang, we have bakasyunan there, all of my cousin always go with me in our province... (1) Comments
