We got the new modem! *sparkles* And it works great.- that said, if I'm not on as much in the next few days, it's because I got Beyond the Sword. ~ Paid Account. ~. . As if I didn't heart Civ IV enough already. XD.

Internet's working! The Geek Squad said it was a defective modem, so I don't know why it's suddenly working now- the replacement Earthlink's sending isn't here yet- but it's working and that's good enough for me.Also, "the Geek Squad" is quite possibly one of the best business names evar.Now life would be perfect if it weren't for the looming end of summer vacation, with all that math I still have to do. )). . XD And also if it wasn't 100 degrees out (or high enough to feel like it anyway)..

I'm home. Been home a few days, actually, but we didn't have a connection for two because Earthlink DSL SUCKS. And then I wasn't able to get on LJ because only half the pages I've tried have even been able to load consistently.And did I mention downloads aren't working either? I tried to download the AIM installer- a 300 KB file- and it was estimating 10 minutes and got stuck halfway through.Oh, sure, pages are loading fast when they load at all, but all the frustration isn't worth it. Dad says on Monday we'll call tech support AGAIN, and if they can't make it run *right* we're going back to dialup because at least it *loads* pages. (And really, AT
