so, yersterday was a most kind of day. i crossed the widest river in the world. twice. then i visited the largest opera house in south america (theatro colon), where i saw the largest orchestra i have ever seen. 7 OBOES!!!! 7!!!!!! WHY!?!?!?!?! thank god they were being covered up by the 30 cellos! lol! 30! so yah. they had an international festival of youth orchestras, and they all played together in a huge orchestra. the orch were mostly from argentina, paraguay, uruguay, and ecuador. middle school to college aged. kinda dissapointed. (they were not good at all) and they werent from schools like in the us, they were from like musical acedemies seperate from school. the youth orchestra of the teatro colon was about as good as poly. player wise. but. they didnt play like an orchestra. they played like winds and strings. it was dissapointing. but the opera house was HUGE!!!! 7 floors! AH! so, i think poly should send chamber orch next year. cuz jackie has been wanting a trip. lol. how cool would it be to go to argentina! i mean, the home of the tango! so much culture here! concerts every night! plays and musicals and operas every night, all over the place! its great! it would be a great place for chamber to go! plus everything is uber cheap! (cept the plance ride) ko. so thats never gunna happen. osmano would die b4 taking an orchestra to another country... oh wait! lol. so. uruguay was pretty. id like to live there. cept ginni wouldnt want to, cuz the river water is contaminated, so i could never live there. buenos aires is pretty cool. the center of the city is a lot like new york. the barrio la boca is like italy. its really cool, i like that barrio. oh ginni, i forgot to tell you, i was 5 feet away from a lion today! yup! theres a lot of french and english influences. the cafes go into the middle of the sidewalk like in france, and it has english phone booths and post boxes. they drive worse than chileans, and have less respect for pedestrians than in chile. if the light is green, the cars turning right have the right of way above the ppl crossing the street. its bad! so, about how cheap everything is... im in a very nice hotel, with a phone in the bathroom and everything. for only $20 a night! hoorah! although it is because they had an ecomical crisis a couple years ago, which isnt good. ko. so. this is a really long entry. and my grandma wants to use the comp. miss you all! cant wait to get back!!!

so today... (not gunna talk about yesterday cuz it was uneventfull and im getting cold) we went to Rancagua, saw my tio Christian and his family, office, and house. Went around town with one of his collegues. Had lunch at his house (1st time iv ever had eggs and rice, u heard me right, fried eggs and white rice! weird, but good!) spent the afternoon with my cousins Tomas and Tomias. they are 7 and 4 years old. Tomas started to like me after a while, and hung by me all the time. he then learned i was 18, and started calling me viejo (old). random statement, i got introuble with my tio (who plays bass) for not knowing all kinds of music really well. he was kinda mad that i didnt know a lot of jazz. lol. also had a discussion about y there is not jazz cello, if there is a lot of jazz violin. Holy shit so the Blood Brothers went from about a 7. Stupid n00bs.. . . bottom line, cello is too beautiful. i mean think about it. violin, trumpet, saxaphone, drums, trombone, ugly instruments. cello, GORGEOUS! lol. :o. . im glad you all agree with me! lol. so found a pub and polo club in rancagua. completely random! oh, the low today was 0 deg celcius, freezing point! YAY! the weather is beautiful, cuz its warmer in the sun, and the sun is out and beautiful!) oh, so, rancagua. is a tiny city, but it has a history, which chile celebrates! lol. there was a battle there against the spaniards for chilean independence, but the chileans lost. so, they have a museam and statue and everything about it! I LOVE IT! Horrah for a country that celebrates its faults! YAY! so, ppl here, drive like maniacs! i thought it was only my grandma (cuz shes getting old) but no, EVERYONE! plus, since by law they dont hafta wear seatbelts, no one does! not even the kids! sheesh! im the only one who does! i swear, for ppl who drive so bad, ud think theyd be smart enough to use seatbelts! but no! so, my lips are chapped like no other, yes ginni, MY lips are chapped. and there is no vaseline or chapstick nearby. ugh. oh well. so, the cool thing about being in freezing weather, is hot water bottles! oh yah baby! which is sounding really nice right now... i think ima go. the worst part about the cold weather, is that when u hafta change clothes, not only do u get naked, but the clothes u put on is room temp, not body temp!!!!! BBBBRRRRRRRR!!!!! tomorrow, we are going to santiago to have lunch at my tio robertos. gunna see everyone there! i hope its fun! i miss everyone! post comments! yes! you! post one! ttfn!.

I've been addicted to Roller Coaster Tycoon, which means iv been getting NOTHING productive done... The dinner was fun! I made the teachers tshirts that said "WARNING Beware of the Cellist" because i dont know y... i dont even like some of them! I spent the night at malias, which was, interesting... MALIA, I HATE YOU LIKE, 500!!!!!!!! Me and malia are a good team at Catch Phrase, we should play it again sometime! So iv been naughty, and havent gone running since monday... its just, i only like to run in the morning, which i cant do cuz ginnis been calling at 10... i had a very interesting cello lesson on wed... i had to postpone it 3 times, because of clifford and his messed up tires. when i finally got to my lesson, ms. strang asked me to take her to get some medicine for her, it was funny, cuz she told me to go to spring, so we were near malias, when she realized its on stearns, so we had to go back to my house. lol. then i had to pretend i was her grandson, cuz she wanted to wait in the car. lol. she kept commenting on how much she loved my mom's car! lol EW! HONDAS! EW! The trio finally has a date for recording... monday 7-10 pm!!!!!! AH! somehow i dont see us getting home till midnight! itl be CRAZY! im really excited, cuz iv never been in a studio b4!!!!! i need to practice... BAD! i also need to clean out my room and start packing for chile, kinda, and go to nicoles to pick up some music, which im not looking forward to, cuz i dont want to see her... ummmmmmm, so, to end on a happy note, ANYONE WANT A TRIO CD!?!?!?!?!?!?!
