The hype about commercially available synthetic pheromones – how far is it true?

It is yet to be proven if artificial pheromones that are mass marketed as human pheromones are likely to attract anyone.

Research says that human pheromones are not the only things involved in attraction. A woman during ovulation may also be visually attracted to physical male characteristics, such as strong muscles, facial look, youth etc. Thus, if human pheromones are actually working, they can only be partially involved.

No evidence exists that synthetic products work, or that being more attractive to the opposite sex is greater if one uses synthetic human pheromones. One definitely tends to go for looks first, rather than smell. Mass marketing of products has made them a hot property, as the first step in establishing attraction.

Do commercially marketed pheromones work?

Unfortunately, there is no full proof answer to this as no one really knows what actually works!!

Various market research studies as well as feedback posted on internet sites related to pheromones do not give any concrete information on this area. Moreover, comments indicate that many synthetic pheromone products do not actually contain the active ingredients as claimed.

Thus, those who want to experiment with pheromone products must do it on their own risk. There is simply lack of sufficient evidence that perfumes loaded with a pheromone blend will attract members of the opposite sex or the same sex!
