A laugh with a message!

The pastor entered his donkey in a race and it won.
The pastor was so pleased with the donkey that he entered size in another race and it won again.

The local paper read:
PASTOR'S ASS OUT FRONT.

The Bishop was so upset with this kind of publicity that he ordered the pastor not to enter the donkey in any more races.

The next day the local paper headline read:
BISHOP SCRATCHES THE PASTOR'S ASS.

This was too much for the Bishop, so he ordered the pastor to get rid of the donkey.
The pastor decided to give it to a nun in a nearby convent.
The local paper, hearing of the news,
Posted the following headline:
NUN HAS THE BEST ASS IN TOWN.

The Bishop fainted.
He informed the nun that she would have to get rid of the donkey so she sold it to a farmer for $10.

The next day the headlines read:
NUN SELLS ASS FOR $10.

This was too much for the Bishop, so he ordered the nun to buy back the donkey and lead it to the high plains where it could run free.

The next day the headlines read:
NUN ANNOUNCES HER ASS
IS WILD AND FREE.

Alas . The Bishop was buried the next day.

MORAL OF THE STORY???
Being concerned about public opinion can bring you much grief and misery and even shorten your life.

So, be yourself and enjoy life.
Stop worrying about everyone else's ass and you'll live longer.

My Grandsons
Just wanted to put into words that I am having "grandson withdrawls"
They have not been over in almost a week and it really gets to me not seeing them all the time.

Prozac for Dogs??
I just happen to read it on the crawl on CNN so I looked for something on the web and found this site.
http://pages.prodigy.com/lemus/prozac.htm

I can't believe it, how do you really know a dog is depressed?
My son has had dogs I tolerate them but don't really like them so I don't know much about them, maybe some of ya'll do.
Just strange to me.
Had A Great Time
My daughter went back to New Orleans this morning I was so very sad that she was leaving(of course), I also cried but didn't want her to start too so I held it in until the cab turned off my street, before I could even close the door the tears flowed. I missed her already.
Their visit her was great they got to relax doing their vacation and enjoy themselves, I did get to cook my family famous spaghetti and meat sauce for them, also a new one I hope to become known for also sausage n peppers, I really like it when someone loves my cooking so especially when it is something that I myself don't eat.
The best part of the trip came when my future son in law asked me to marry my daughter, he would not even ask her before he asked me, I was so impressed by that.
So now I will be helping in the planning of her wedding and I have so many good ideas.
Fishing

Bait the hook, cast the line.
See what you catch.
Crimson Tide??
My oldest daughter(Danielle) will be here tomorrow. I haven't seen her in almost 18 months. I am so very excited she has so much planned for the visit, I plan nothing so I just go along with her and my second daughter(Ashanti) to bring the fun to what they call their mother's boring life, one thing they really want to put an end to is my movie habits well really my lack of movie going habits I don't go. Danielle couldn't believe when I told her that the last thing I seen at the movie was "Crimson Tide" she just kept saying "mama" over and over all the while I was laughing so hard.
Of course I have seen movies in between that time on cable, vhs, and dvd but going out is not my thing and they are determined to drag me out of my house, I will go to please them and make sure they have a great time but one thing they have planned I will not under no circumstances will I do Amusement Parks no way no way no way Not even for my beloved first born grandson whom I will do almost anything for.
Besides seeing my daughter my most fun will be taking pictures which I love to do I had hundreds maybe thousands before and lost 99% of them from the storm and of course I will do as always post them here.
My 4 Worlds
I am not here very often, just to look around n sometimes read some interesting blogs.
Yes, I must say that I read "Pollyanna's" blog on being home without her teenagers and some of the comments there got me thinking about my 4 worlds. That said I have decided to write this
On a blog that I totally identify with I was reading how it is not so easy dealing with the silence when your children are out of the house for awhile.
It got me think about my own children and if anyone here can identify with me.
With me, I have 4 different worlds going on here: 1. Grown children 2. Teenagers 3. Pre-teen 4. Grandchildren.
I have truly forgotten the last time I have had alone(just when it's school time)
I think it would really frighten me to hear silence in my house, telephone I don't even go there I let em have it unless I really want to talk, makes no sense the second line is always buzzing for them anyway, had my own phone line but rarely got enough calls to justify the paying an extra bill, as for cooking around here breakfast and lunch it's everyone for themselves(I don't eat either so it's cool with me and they usually wants something different from what I was going to make anyway) dinner is always a family thing even if it's pizza being delivered.
The computer is mine(well they have the phone) I work on here all day and well into the night so I have understanding for now with that. tv I dare not watch with teens(music videos or reality tv YUK) but then again I think that they dare not watch with me (cable news junkie, movies on TCM channel maybe something on the History channel now and then, and can't do without my westerns on the weekend). I do get my 5 yr old grandson who wants to watch cartoon on grandma tv because they won't let him in the living room He is the only one who can get me to change the channel LOL.
As you can see from my blog page my kids and grands are my world, but there are times that I wish for a deserted island or just a weekend to myself, Maybe I could remember my real name, right now I think it's either 'MAMA' r "GRANDMA" LOL

But back to my whole point of this, I was wondering how many on here have these 4 worlds going on? n What is it like when worlds come together as one?

P.S. this may be a little ramblly(probably not a word) but I tend to do that so maybe you can just excuse that with me.
Thanks

My Family: My Late Baby Sucker Punch

SuckerPunch
6-25-04-2-13-06

I remember the day well when I got my friend, it was June 25, 2004. My oldest son best friend had several of them n thought it would be a nice gesture to give me one, I accepted, not knowing the first thing about the fish (it's proper name, how to care for it) but I knew I would give him my best. He came to me in a small ziploc baggie, so I had to find him a new home which turned out to be a gallon size pickle jar which I placed on my dresser so I could watch him in all his beautiful blue splendor(blue is also my most fav color).
Now for a name for my new friend, I had decided upon calling him Slay but my kids wouldn't have that so they started throwing out names like "bubbles" no way I said he is a fighting fish what kind of name is that for him. So I thought and from some events that had recently happened I decided on SuckerPunch.
Later that summer a very dangerous hurricane was headed our way so we were to evacuate to get away from Ivan, my kids were packed n ready everything in order with them, but how to transport my youngest, I decided on two baggies to make sure he was safe, I put him in the front seat with me holding him all the way. Ivan veered of without causing any problems for New Orleans so we were all safe. Over the next 7 months, I grew more n more attached and learned about taking care of him, I brought him new rocks n shells for his jar(he enjoyed the jar better than anything else I tried) I would talk with him daily n knew he like it because of the way he would swim to the side of the jar where I was. He was my friend.
On January 18, 2005 my sons' friend asked me would I care for the last fish he had still alive because they had no running water the rest had died, I gladly agreed, Poor thing when I got him, his bowl was so filthy he couldn't get any fresh air from the muck, I removed him from that, placing him into one of Punch’s' other bowls I had. He didn't do much the first few days(I guess he was too sick) but I hung in there with him and he eventually came around. He did so well so now for a name for him since I had rescued him for death I decided that his name would be Rescue. I enjoyed them greatly, I brought them the mini aquarium where each had it's own side separated by a color shield which when removed they would see each other n being two males they would flare up at each other (which in my research on them I found promoted good health in them). They thrived n were happy.
Then on July 19, 2005 very unexpectedly Rescue died, it bothered me because I thought he was going to be fine. I never could just flush him like he was nothing so I found a small box n buried him in the yard, my youngest son n grandson(9 n 3 at the time) did the honorers they even sang a hymn for him I found it touching.
So I went on went my best friend SuckerPunch. As most know in August another storm threatened New Orleans thus another evacuation, transporting my friend this time was much easier, I put him in a quart size piglip jar with the lid, he endured the 14 hr drive to northern Louisiana very well. We only figured to be away from home for 3 days tops but as most know New Orleans was devastated by Katrina but we all were fine just lost possessions, over the next few weeks we all went through a lot even my friends Punch, while I was away shopping to get clothing for my kids, they were moved to a mass shelter where the national guard were stationed n everyone had to go through an x-ray machine, those dirty dogs even made my daughter put Punch on the belt(he was in a clear jar) what was he hiding under those fins? I was teed when I found out, over the next week he developed some strange white spots, but never seem ill. We moved into an apartment less than a month after Katrina but I didn't like north Louisiana I wanted to move on but couldn't go home was nothing there. So I decided in January to move to Michigan, afraid to fly we went by train found out that no pets allowed I had to leave the parakeet we got (his name was Trace, but he is another story) but I couldn't leave my friend it would be like leaving one of my children, so I put him in a small plastic container in one of my suitcases n he made the over 1000 mile trip well. He did very well for the week we stayed in the hotel while I finalized our house to live in, we moved in on Valentines Day It was nice but found out one big problem the furnace didn't work, I was able to keep my children n myself warm with clothing, I put Punch in the suitcase with clothing surrounding him, when the electric heaters arrived I was to put him close to one, but when I got the container out he had died from the cold. I didn't cry when Rescue died, but the tears just started flowing for my SuckerPunch, it hurt that here we were in our new home he had made so many journeys so many miles just to get here n leave.
I wanted to bury him also, but here there was snow on the ground n too hard to dig a small hole, it really got me when I had to flush him I couldn't do it so my 10yr old did it I wouldn't even watch.
When our things arrived later from Louisiana, n we started to unpack I couldn't bear to see the things I had purchased for him for our new home like the 10 gallon aquarium, the aquarium decor, the pump etc. I just put them in the basement.
I really miss my friend SuckerPunch.
I hope maybe one day to get some more of the pets I love which if you can't tell it's fish n birds, but right now I can't see others swimming about the tank he never got to use.
LOVE YOU SUCKERPUNCH !!!!!
GOOD MORINING ALL
