What I Simply Detest

I have to move, Again. This will be the 9th time since Katrina, I have never moved that many times in my entire life. I came back to New Orleans about 6 months ago for the first time since it happened, I finally moved in here in April it was taking me a little time to get around to unpacking all the boxes I have since there is no basements here like in Detroit, and man did I have the stuff that was easily stored in the basement there. Now just when I figure out where some of those things could go I received a Notice of Seizure on my door from the civil sheriff here. My landlord lost this property. Now that's the Federal Government for ya', why them? Because I am disabled the government pays my rent. 1. I moved here in April, they should have checked that he (the landlord) was current in his mortgage payments. 2. I checked with them when I received the notice and the rent was paid for June. 3. I was told by them that he will recieve payments until September unless I file a new landlord of record with them before them. Waste of money by our Government, comes to no surprise tho. Oh, forgot to mention that I faxed them the notice of seizure too and that made no difference in his payments being sent. So, now here I go again on the move, it's not the work involved I can't do it anyway I always give orders and my children do the "heavy lifting" light lifting too for that matter. I just hate having to find a place to live, making sure things are pack like I like, getting the truck, getting the things to the new place and doing it in reverse. But of all of that I Hate being a Nomad. Just had to get that off my chest. and want to say that I will not be on here after this week for a little while just hope it won't be for months as before. I will miss just coming here to look around and read what others are writing about that day. I will miss ALL of MY FRIENDS here the most. The Cost of Groceries

Just came from Wal-Mart have to make sure my children are set up for the weekend so a little grocery shopping was in order and I am so pissed off. I am always ranting about gas prices, (even tho I don't own a car or even drive) because the price of gas affect the prices in the supermarkets and it is ridiculous. The price of cereal isn't that bad but the milk to go with it is more than a gallon of gas ($4.89) eggs $1.65 a small dozen I don't have any use for the outdoors but a garden sound like a winner, with the price of fresh produce in the stores. I had to cut back on what I might usually buy but the worse part of it for me is that school will be out next week for summer vacation so my children will need breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks 7 days a week instead of me just making sure to stock up for the weekends when they are home. I was just wondering if gas prices go down, will the price of food fall too. I am not looking for either to happen. (4) Comments

Color Codes?

Sitting last night watching Hannity&Colmes on the Fixed News Channel(Fox) which I stopped watching intently months ago because they are so PATHETIC there. Well anyway watching Sean spew his pathetic rhetoric about Obama's pastor, ayers and the catholic priest filling his empty head views heads with their views to make sure they have Foxes opinion of things Which is REV WRIGHT, JOHN AYERS, FATHER PHELGER, OBAMA STAYED IN THAT CHURCH 20 YRS, LOUIS FARRAHAN THE BITTER COMMENTS AND THEIR VERY VERY BEST BARACK HUSSIEN OBAMA. W O W. I know that they want to bring him down but they have got to come better than that because their viewers don't add up to enough to elect McCain as president, Fox is Right Wing hardcore in the Republican camp, they did all of Bushs' bidding (they called the election for him in 2000 starting that whole mess and giving us his presidency) they were among the very first if not the first to repeat and further the administrastions line of anyone not agreeing with going to war UNPATRIOTIC. I could go on and on about their Bush bidding. So here is how McCain can win the White House for them. Get Bush to raise the Terror Alert. Fox will tout it up well for them. Instead of telling people to wrap their homes in plastic wrap and duct tape, what about bubble wrap. Really it's been a long while since I heard those terror alert warnings and Fox(other cable news channels too) have stopped having it on their crawl). That Color Coded Terror Warning system worked so very well for them in the past, so why not go to Orange, Red, Yellow. Damn I was always mixed up on which was which, which one tells me to wrap my house and make sure I duct tape well. Ok I was really seriously wondering what happened to those color coded alerts we would get whenever Bushies were in trouble, so I thought McCain could use a little help now. For My Friends

One day a teacher asked her students to list the names of the other students in the room on two sheets of paper, leaving a space between each name. Then she told them to think of the nicest thing they could say about each of their classmates and write it down. It took the remainder of the class period to finish their assignment, and as the students left the room, each one handed in the papers. That Saturday, the teacher wrote down the name of each student on a separate sheet of paper, and listed what everyone else had said about that individual. On Monday she gave each student his or her list. Before long, the entire class was smiling. 'Really?' she heard whispered. 'I never knew that I meant anything to anyone!' and, 'I didn't know others liked me so much,' were most of the comments. No one ever mentioned those papers in class again. She never knew if they discussed them after class or with their parents, but it didn't matter. The exercise had accomplished its purpose The students were happy with themselves and one another. That group of students moved on. several years later, one of the students was killed in Vietnam and his teacher attended the funeral of that special student She had never seen a serviceman in a military coffin before. He looked so handsome, so mature.. The church was packed with his friends. One by one those who loved him took a last walk by the coffin. The teacher was the last one to bless the coffin. As she stood there, one of the soldiers who acted as pallbearer came up to her. 'Were you Mark's math teacher?' he asked. She nodded: 'yes..' Then he said: 'Mark talked about you a lot.' After the funeral, most of Mark's former classmates went together to a luncheon. Mark's mother and father were there, obviously waiting to speak with his teacher. 'We want to show you something,' his father said, taking a wallet out of his pocket 'They found this on Mark when he was killed. We thought you might recognize it.' Opening the billfold, he carefully removed two worn pieces of notebook paper that had obviously been taped, folded and refolded many times. 'Thank you so much for doing that,' Mark's mother said. 'As you can see, Mark treasured it.' All of Mark's former classmates started to gather around. Charlie smiled rather sheepishly and said, 'I still have my list. It's in the top drawer of my desk at home.' Chuck's wife said, 'Chuck asked me to put his in our wedding album.' 'I have mine too,' Marilyn said. 'It's in my diary' Then Vicki, another classmate, reached into her pocketbook, took out her wallet and showed her worn and frazzled list to the group. 'I carry this with me at all times,' Vicki said and without batting an eyelash, she continued: 'I think we all saved our lists' That's when the teacher finally sat down and cried. She cried for Mark and for all his friends who would never see him again. The density of people in society is so thick that we forget that life will end one day. A laugh with a message!

The pastor entered his donkey in a race and it won. The pastor was so pleased with the donkey that he entered size in another race and it won again. The local paper read: PASTOR'S ASS OUT FRONT. The Bishop was so upset with this kind of publicity that he ordered the pastor not to enter the donkey in any more races. The next day the local paper headline read: BISHOP SCRATCHES THE PASTOR'S ASS. This was too much for the Bishop, so he ordered the pastor to get rid of the donkey. The pastor decided to give it to a nun in a nearby convent. The local paper, hearing of the news, Posted the following headline: NUN HAS THE BEST ASS IN TOWN. The Bishop fainted. He informed the nun that she would have to get rid of the donkey so she sold it to a farmer for $10. The next day the headlines read: NUN SELLS ASS FOR $10. This was too much for the Bishop, so he ordered the nun to buy back the donkey and lead it to the high plains where it could run free. The next day the headlines read: NUN ANNOUNCES HER ASS IS WILD AND FREE. Alas . The Bishop was buried the next day. MORAL OF THE STORY??? Had A Great Time

My daughter went back to New Orleans this morning I was so very sad that she was leaving(of course), I also cried but didn't want her to start too so I held it in until the cab turned off my street, before I could even close the door the tears flowed. I missed her already. Their visit her was great they got to relax doing their vacation and enjoy themselves, I did get to cook my family famous spaghetti and meat sauce for them, also a new one I hope to become known for also sausage n peppers, I really like it when someone loves my cooking so especially when it is something that I myself don't eat. The best part of the trip came when my future son in law asked me to marry my daughter, he would not even ask her before he asked me, I was so impressed by that. So now I will be helping in the planning of her wedding and I have so many good ideas. (0) Comments
