About Me
I like to see the expression on ppl's faces when I play worship music in a store, or when I play the "charge" music in a church and the kids yell "charge!". You know, things you would here somewhere other than where you are.

I have challenged myself to do something really crazy. In the Texas heat, I am going to do 2 hot races and a 9.1 mile training walk within a weekend. I walk half marathons and other races, and I am going to have a race-filled weekend starting July 19th. This is my schedule:

7-19 7:30 am "Too Hot to Handle 15K" at Dallas' White Rock Lake.(9.1 miles)
7-20 12:00 am "El Scorcho 25K" at Trinity Park in Fort Worth(15.5 miles)*

7-20 6:00 am Training walk around White Rock Lake.

*Yes, it starts at midnight the night of the first race.

I don't know if there are any records of any mileage within a day and a half for walking, all I know is that it will be hot.
I will keep you updated between races.

Hey All!
This Sunday I am going to be in a half marathon. Our
trainer and some in the group advise not to, but we
are just crazy like that. They discourage it because
you don't get a medal unless you finish in less than 3
hours, so instead of being dedicated to just walking it,
we are going to mix in some running(as if we were trained
in running lol). We've only been trained in the fast walking
technique, but we are learning to start mixing in some
running to improve our times, but also to rest our walking
muscles while we are running. They also discourage this
race because it is all on concrete. 13.1 miles of concrete,
but we're just crazy like that. We are just trying to obtain
more half marathon medals and shirts and stay motivated
to do the half marathons. This will be my 5th half marathon
in 6 months. I don't know much about running, but I think it
would be very hard on a body to do this many half marathons
so soon.
So we are enjoying the racing scene, making a new friend
here and there, and I'm always in search for the perfect shot
for a photo or 2. I am very thankful for this new avenue in my life.
Blessings to ya!

Whether you want to walk in a marathon or walk to get outdoors, or to meet real ppl, or even to be more active and healthy, come on out to White Rock Lake on Saturday mornings at 6:30 AM and let's go for a walk. We have a great training coach, if you want training or coaching, who will help you walk effectively for speed or for burning calories. Walk and learn at your own pace... no charge! Or just come out and enjoy nature in a beautiful part of Dallas, TX. I hope to see you out there soon.
