I'm a not so perfect angel. You might say my halo slips off every now and then. Doesn't that make life more fun?

Quizes: What my birthday means - these things are so uncanny!

Your Birthdate: April 24

You understand people well and are a natural born therapist.

A peacemaker, people always seem to get along when you are around.

You tend to be a father or mother figure to friends, even to those older than you.

You enjoy your role, and you find that you are close to many people.

Your strength: Your devotion

Your weakness: Reliance on others for happiness

Your power color: Lilac

Your power symbol: Heart

Your power month: June

Work Crap: I'm a polygamist!! 3 spouses count 'em I have 3 spouses

The other day I had a meeting with new boss. New boss still gets on my nerves. He's so fake and loves blowing smoke up your ass - I hate that shit.

Anyway, during the meeting he was talking about Will and I. He made the correlation that Will and I were like husband and wife. Me the good little wifey busying around taking care of crap, keeping things straight and driving Will do to his best. Will on the other hand is the typical husband. Sitting back working away on the big high profile stuff and taking credit for shit. I chuckled at this reference to our work roles; but I left the meeting grumbling. I've stewed on it for a few days now; and I must say I'm not exactly thrilled at new boss's comment. Having to dig through Will's cube looking for a misplaced extremely important CD did not help my outlook on the whole situation. I feel belittled and demeaned. I know I'm probably just being hormonal; but jeez!!! Can't new boss just say I'm doing a good job? Why this backhanded compliment shit? This isn't the first time that Will and I have received this marital label.

I know the blog title says I have 3 spouses. Hubby is the real spouse. Will is the second spouse. Marie is my third spouse. She lives in the adjoining cubicle at work. If Will is my work husband, Marie has to qualify as my work wife. We are joined at the hip even though we do not support the same systems. We joke about growing up and becoming lesibians together; but we plan on having a goreous pool boy to attend to our needs. ;-)

So how many spouses do you have?

Food and related issues: Oral fixation ... it's the to go cup I crave

For way too many years of my life, I worked in a hospital lab. I was in lab school just as AIDS was breaking loose; see way too many years. Anyway, you cannot have food or drinks in a lab; so I never got to enjoy the wonders of the lunch time to go cup.

Three years ago I left the lab and entered the real world. I can now go to lunch at real resturants instead of the hospital cafeteria. At first, I would leave the resturant without my to go cup. Now I eat frequent restuarants based on their to go cup polices and practices. The places that don't give out to go cups have been erased from my list. The places that only give out kid sized to go cups are on my stand by list. My favorites places are the ones that give you a HUGE to go cup straight from the drink machine - much better than places that pour your glass contents into the to go cup.

I slurp on my to go cup all afternoon and on the ride home. If I don't happen to have a to go, I reach blindly for it all afternoon. I feel parched and cough the whole afternoon that I don't have a to go cup. I get shaky. I feel lost. I'm just all out of sorts without my to go cup! I've decided I'm just addicted to the to go cup.
Guess I could be addicted to worse things.

I wonder what kind of cancer plastic straws cause. I will let you know in a few years.

One resolution shot to hell!

Ok I was supposed to be frugal with my entertainment dollars this year. One little trip to an electronics store today, shot that resolution straight to hell.

We decided to get out of the house today and go look at TV's. Our current TV is over 20 years old and only 27 inches. As we stood surrounded by huge TV's, I could see my resolution and hubby's bonus check flying away with the wind. We now have a 46 inch LCD monster TV with a free blue ray disc player hooked and playing. It look us 5 hours to move furniture, clean behing furniture, figure out what wires went where, program the new TV and figure out what remote works what.Funny how as technology progresses the harder it is to hook up a TV!

Guess we won't be going to see any movies for awhile!

The value of a hug

Hug Comments
Hug Comments - DazzleJunction.com

I went to see a friend who had a death in the family. He hugged with such need that I've been thinking about how good a hug can feel and how much it can help.

Just thought I would send a hug to all my NewBlog friends.

Quizes: Capicorn love...Crap these things hit too close to home sometimes!!

Your True Love Is a Capricorn

Why you'll love a Capricorn:

Hard working and driven, a Capricorn will work overtime to win your heart.

Be prepared to get wined and dined, even once you're convince that your Capricorn is the one!

Why a Capricorn will love you:

You don't rush things. You know it will take a while for a Capricorn to trust you, and you can wait.

Social and outgoing, you can introduce normally shy Capricorn to a great circle of friends.

Quizes: A freaky kisser! Is that good or bad?

You're a Freaky Kisser

When you kiss, you want to experience something new

A new technique, a new partner, a new piercing...

And your own personal kissing style is very unpredictable

There's no saying where your tongue or hands will go

Work Crap: On call musings.......Jeez it's 3am!

I just got rudely awakened by my beeper. I hate being on call! Every third week I'm on call for work. I support all the lab computer systems for the hospital that I have toiled away at for 20 years.

I do like my job and the freedom that it gives me; but this on call shit is for the birds some times. Some times I get beeped for silly things...remember your passwords people!!!! Some times I get beeped for really bad crap...one particular server has screwed up two entire weekends for me in the past 6 months. Tonight's beep was semi- sortof- important.

Oh well, just thought I would pop by NewBlog and see what was happening since I was awake. Sleep tight everybody.

Quizes: An R rated life

Your Life is Rated R

Your life is definitely adults only. While children accompanied by parents are welcome, they'll probably be scarred for life.

Individuality...embrace it

Will has a devotional calendar on his desk this year. It's an odd thing for Will to have; but I think his wife is trying to set his butt straight.

Anyway to keep myself occupied during a conference call, I picked it up and started reading it. I really liked today's message. The message was basically that you may have bits and pieces of everyone in you; but nobody is you. Only you are you and only you can do things the way you do them. God created you individually. By being you and only you, you make God smile.

The message just made me happy. I kind of pride myself on not being predictable, not acting my age and being a little goofy. By doing all of this, I'm making someone much bigger than I smile. That's just too cool.

Inner Child: It's snowing...it's really snowing!!!

Ok I know lots of you live with snow alot of the year; but down here in the south snow is a really big deal. We have enough snow here at the house to barely cover the deck; but it's snow!!!!!

My 17 year old and I were playing in the snow earlier. We took the kitten out to experience his first snow. We had the dog chasing snow balls. We were snapping pictures. We were acting like kids. In other words, we were having a blast!

School children all around are waiting for morning to see if we will have enough snow and ice to cancel school for the day. Now don't laugh, it doesn't take much to cancel school in the south.

Off to snuggle up in bed and watch the snowfall. Happy hump day to you!

Work Crap: It's just more than I think I can swallow

I've told you a little bit about working with Ann and Will; but things are fixin to get worse!

Will and I were told today that we would have to attend team building sessions with Ann in the next couple of weeks. Supposedly we will be able to be candid and get stuff of our chests. Yeah right, last time I tried that with Ann I almost go fired. Also we are going to have to do activities together so we can bond. Gag me!! They cannot make me befriend Ann.

I've been told all of this is an attempt to even the playing field between the three of us. Ann swears she doesn't know what Will and I know. What?!?!? I'm the newbie of the group. I'm the one that should need to play catch up and not Ann.
Ann is a true problem that administration has finally begun to realize. Now they need a way to get rid of her. We have to do all this crap to prove we tried and that she really cannot do the job.

I know I'm not making total sense and I sound a little bitter. The whole situation just pisses me off. Ann gets away with doing far less and being responsible for much less than Will and I and uses her disablity as a trump card. I get so mad about it all that I don't even make sense when I try to tell the story.

Another problem I'm having right now is my cat is laying between me and the laptop. She won't move I've tried! Guess she's trying to tell me to give it up and go to bed.

Maybe sleep will reveal a way to swallow all of administration's crap.

Food and related issues: Yummy!

The creme brulee tasted wonderful! I'm so full right now it's unreal. Making the creme brulee was much easier than expected. Guess I'm on my way to chefdom....lol.

The creme brulee probably did screw up the diet just a bit. I was such a good girl today. I had yogurt, veggies and fruit today. I will crawl back on the wagon tomorrow.

Oh yeah, today was my first day at work this year. Ugh...well double ugh actually. Due to vacation and going to Florida last week, I had not stepped foot into the office this year until this morning. Tell you what, it was damn hard to go back to work. Wish I would win the lottery!

Quizes: A recipe for me...

3 parts Ingenuity

2 parts Glamour

1 part Difance

Splash of Class

Chug!

The one part Difance - that's me alright. Hit the nail on the head with that one; but the 2 part glamour still laughing my self silly over that one.

Food and related issues: Is it time to break out the diet? But I don't wanna!

I'm torn....I need to diet due to an upcoming doctor's appointment; but I got the tools to try making creme brulee. I fell in love with creme brulee during my last trip to Vegas - the Paris buffet killed me.

I want to try making creme burlee today and then the diet can start tomorrow...right?

Off to find recipes for both creme brulee and diet. What a combo!

Inner Child: This game is addictive! Try it out.

http://www2.framestore-cfc.com/

Bounce your polar bear up the ice blocks. It fun for some stupid reason.

Family: Back to the real world

Well I've caught up on my sleep, laundry and the dishes since I got home yesterday. Everything is slipping back into the normal every day routine.

I just want to remark on how strange and quickly life can turn around. One day you are sitting quietly at home minding your own business. The next you are whisked off on a business trip where your whole normal life ceases to exist. You don't sleep right, you don't eat right, you don't work right nothing is right. You are forced to spend time with people you wouldn't normally talk to in the grocery store. Maybe all that stuff is what caused me to toss the old halo in the gutter this week.

One day you are off in business world and the next you are home doing laundry, dishes and recycling. Back to being wife and mom. I'm busy supergluing the halo back together and shining it up.

Life is so crazy and wild!

Quizes: I'm a cardinal

Your Power Bird is a Cardinal

You believe that each day is precious, and you spend your times as best as you can.

You see the wonder in small things, and you are often content with what you have.

You life an interesting, colorful life - and you bring color to those around you.

Confident and expressive, you believe you know how to live a good life. You're living it!

Quizes: My name means...it's pretty much dead on - how wierd is that?

You are fair, honest, and logical. You are a natural leader, and people respect you.

You never give up, and you will succeed... even if it takes you a hundred tries.

You are rational enough to see every part of a problem. You are great at giving other people advice.

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.

You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.

At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.

You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.

You have the classic "Type A" personality.

You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.

You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts.

You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.

You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.

You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

Work Crap: You guys are awesome!!!

Thanks for all the kind thoughts, prayers and great ideas. The trip down to Florida was actually uneventful and prety quick. We made it in 7 hours - not my fastest time; but much faster than the first time I traveled down with Ann (10 hours that trip).

The weather is beautiful down here. 80+ degrees. Shining sun. Oh it just feels so wonderful after last week's single digit temps.

I must say one thing about Ann. She's clueless!! She brought a laptop from work because she's on call. Well the dumbass that she is...she never logged into this laptop while it was hooked to the work network. Now the laptop won't let her in and Will and I have to cover call for her since we brought our personal laptops.

Well maybe she isn't clueless...we are the idiots aren't we?!?! Keep me in your thoughts...there's still the ride home. LOL.

Work Crap: Citizens of Newblog...I need some help

Please send up a good thought, a prayer, rub your lucky rabbit's foot or do what ever you do when you need some extra help in the course of life for me this week.

Tomorrow at 8am sharp this little angel embarks on a journey that just might cost me my life, job or at the very least my halo. I must drive myself and two coworkers to a class down in Florida. The ride can take anywhere from 6 to 10 hours - depends upon on how fast I can fly down the interstate.

The one coworker, Will, is the ying to my yang. We have known each other forever or so it seems. We get along great. Will turns 40 this week; and the planned party just might make me lose my halo. But that will be a fun time!

The other coworker, Ann, rubs salt in every possible pore of my being. Ann and I have had some run ins over the past 3 years. The first big run in nearly cost me my job - you just don't butt heads with someone that can play the race card and the disability card. The second big run in nearly cost me my life. Ann got mad at me on a different educational trip when I asked if she knew how to drive to the class. She had always been reading on the way back and forth to class. She hadn't been paying attention. The next trip to Florida she was going to be on her own; so I was just trying to make sure she knew her way. Oh my God!!!! You would have thought I physically attacked her. She got out of the car and nearly drug me out of the driver's seat. She squealed out of the parking lot. Then proceeded to drive 60 in a residental area...not bothering to stop for stop sign or red lights. I swear the girl with us and I were truly fearing for our lives!

Anyway, send up a good thought for me. I hope to keep my life, job and halo intact. Well maybe I will take off the halo for the birthday party. :-)

Taxes...funny? Yes or No?

This is too true to be very funny

The next time you hear a politician use the
word 'billion' in a casual manner, think about
whether you want the 'politicians' spending
YOUR tax money.
A billion is a difficult number to comprehend,
but one advertising agency did a good job of
putting that figure into some perspective in
one of its releases.

A. A billion seconds ago it was 1959.

B. A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.

C. A billion hours ago our ancestors were
living in the Stone Age.

D. A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.

E. A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and
20 minutes, at the rate our government is spending it.

While this thought is still fresh in our brain, let's take a look at New Orleans It's amazing what you can learn with some simple division

Louisiana Senator, Mary Landrieu (D), is presently asking the Congress for $250 BILLION to rebuild New Orleans . Interesting number, what does it mean?

A. Well, if you are one of 484,674 residents of
New Orleans (every man, woman, child), you
each get $516,528.

B. Or, if you have one of the 188,251 homes in
New Orleans , your home gets $1,329,787.

C. Or, if you are a family of four, your family
gets $2,066,012.

Washington, D.C . HELLO!!! ... Are all your calculators broken??

Tax his land,
Tax his wage,
Tax his bed in which he lays.
Tax his tractor,
Tax his mule,
Teach him taxes is the rule.
Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.

Tax his ties,
Tax his shirts,
Tax his work,
Tax his dirt.

Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he tries to think.

Tax his booze,
Tax his beers,
If he cries,
Tax his tears.

Tax his bills,
Tax his gas,
Tax his notes,
Tax his cash.

Tax him good and let him know
That after taxes, he has no dough.

If he hollers,
Tax him more,
Tax hi m until he's good and sore.

Tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in which he lays.
Put these words upon his tomb,
'Taxes drove me to my doom!'

And when he's gone,
We won't relax,
We'll still be after the inheritance TAX!!
Accounts Receivable Tax
Building Permit Tax
CDL License Tax
Cigarette Tax
Corporate Income Tax
Dog License Tax
Federal Income Tax
Federal Unemployment Tax (FUTA)
Fishing License Tax
Food License Tax
Fuel Perm it Tax

STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?
Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago,
and our nation was the most prosperous in the world.
We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.

What happened? Can you spell 'politicians!'

And I still have to 'press
1' for English.

I hope this goes around THE
USA at least billion times !!

8 degrees!!!! What in the world?!?!?!?

I'm a southern girl and what in the hell is 8 degrees all about? It's been flipping cold for the past two days. Too cold for this girl. Luckily I'm on vacation this week. I've gotten to stay home snuggled up under a quilt watching TV.

My youngest wanted to get outside and stretch her legs today. We went to the a botanical garden to walked around. 45 minutes later I was helping my popsicle kid into the car. It took awhile to thaw my daughter out.

How do you nothern folks stand the cold?!?!?!?

Happy New Year to All of NewBlog!!!!!

Happy New Year Comments - DazzleJunction.com

My resolutions for 2008:

Be more frugal with my entertainment dollars. I want to get back to basics: home and hearth.

Write more - blogging and novel writing.

Take a photography trip - one of those travel photo seminars would be awesome.

Have a blast celebrating my 25th anniversay later in 2008.

There that's enough and fairly doable. Good luck to me and everyone else that tries to keep resolutions.

Family: Just rip my heart out.....

I've done one of the best deeds of my whole entire life this week. I bought a plane ticket for one of my nephews to fly over from LA; so he could see his Dad (my little brother). My little brother's divorce last year left him and his ex broke. The ex sent the kids to California; so they could be near her family. I might add that she did this without my brother's agreement. Seems to me we could get her for kidnapping; but my brother didn't want to do that. Anyway, my brother hasn't seen his kids since May. The one kid choose not to come...thankfully last minute tickets are pricey!

Christmas night we picked him up from the airport. Oh he's grown! Little brother arrived the next night. The reunion was sweet. Both have thanked me and thanked me. It's just so great to see them together.

Here's the ripping my heart out part of the story. The kid is blind as a bat; but the only pair of functioning glasses he has are sunglasses! He is covered under his Dad's insurance. Plus my little brother pays hefty child support every month. Why is the kid only got sunglasses????? Oh it gets worse, the clothes he got off the plane in are the only clothes he has that fit! He is still wearing the same tennis shoes he went to California in. We are all trying to buy him the needed items for basic survival; but he is checking prices and refusing to pick stuff out. I believe that his mother has him so beaten down he doesn't know how to accept love and affection. It seems that the other kid has everything he needs and wants. Can I scream?!?!?!?

Off to make lasagna for the family!

Merry Christmas to Everyone!!

Thought I would post the lyrics to my favorite Christmas song: Silent Night. It's been my favorite as long as I can remember (about age 4 I think - my little brother wasn't in the picture yet so I'm guessing about 4).

Silent Night
Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright.
Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child.
Holy infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent night, holy night
Shepherds quake at the sight.
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia,
Christ the Savior is born
Christ the Savior is born.

Silent night, holy night
Son of God love's pure light.
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus Lord, at Thy birth.
Jesus Lord, at Thy birth.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Inner Child: Drooling over Legos

I helped a friend finish up her Christmas shopping today. I do love to shop; so it was not that much of a chore. Plus it helped my friend out sooo much. She could not get her mind wrapped around what she needed to do; so I stepped in and laid it all out. Within 3 hours we did all of her shopping, well except for one item. She wanted to get her parents a Ninetindo DS; and we could not find one anywhere.

Our last ditch effort to find a Ninetindo DS was to head to ToysRUs. Yes we were in insane to go into a toy store the weekend before Christmas; but we had already conquered Target and Best Buy. What did we have to lose? We came up dry in the Ninetindo department; but I scored in the Lego area.

Apparently my friend had not gotten my present yet. Heck I didn't ger hers until today either! As my youngest (she's 17) and I stood drooling over the Lego sets, my friend asked which one I wanted. My eyes nearly burst out of my head. The little kid in me lept free of it's middle aged body and bounced around around the isle. Could I have one? Really? Truly?? Wow! Man oh man! My very own Lego set! Keep in mind, when I was a kid you just got Legos in a box. There were none of the Batman, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, castles and such kits. I ended up with a red Ferrari and a huge ass grin on my face.

Good friends that understand the inner you are priceless.

My youngest ended up with a holiday Belle (as in Beauty and the Beast) doll and huge grin. My friend, she ended up with a blue tooth headset for her cellphone - that's what she wanted.

What to cook for Christmas dinner?? Any ideas?

Ah today is the first day of 5 days off. Awesome! Wonderful! Lovely!!

Luckily my presents are all procured and wrapped. All I have to worry about is creating my first ginger bread house ever and what to cook for Christmas dinner. Mom did Dad's birthday; so I'm taking care of Christmas.

Any ideas???

Family: Dad turns 69

My Dad just turned 69! Way to go Dad!

My Dad is great in so many ways and such a pain in so many others. Every birthday I count as a blessing since he was diagnosed with prostate cancer a couple of years ago. A radical prostatectomy took care of the problem; but has left the idea of sex or 69s a distant memory. I mention that because dummy here, just had to open her mouth and try to make a funny about his age and what that meant. Once it was out of my mouth, I wished the floor would just open up and swallow me whole!! He and my Mom laughed about it; but me.....well I have a habit of opening mouth, inserting foot and swallowing! They still love me anyway. ;-)

Thank God for parents!
