DESTINY
Posted 11/13/2006 3:08:05 PM As you can hear, I've added a song to my profile. This song is by Zero 7. I downloaded it because I had recently discovered this group and I wanted to hear other songs they wrote. A couple days ago, I was driving to Portland, and playing from my MP3 player came this song and I have been playing it over and over again....I just can't stop listening to it. I lie awake I've gone to ground I'm watching porn In my hotel dressing gown Now I dream of you But I still believe There's only enough for one in this Lonely hotel suite The journey's long And it feels so bad I'm thinking back to the last day we had. Old moon fades into the new Soon I know I'll be back with you I'm nearly with you I'm nearly with you When I'm weak I draw strength from you And when you're lost I know how to change your mood And when I'm down you breathe life over me Even though we're miles apart we are each other's destiny On a clear day I'll fly home to you I'm bending time getting back to you Old moon fades into the new Soon I know I'll be back with you I'm nearly with you I'm nearly with you When I'm weak I draw strength from you And when you're lost I know how to change your mood And when I'm down you breathe life over me Even though we're miles apart we are each other's destiny When I'm weak I draw strength from you And when you're lost I know how to change your mood And when I'm down you breathe life over me Even though we're miles apart we are each other's destiny I'll fly, I'll fly home I'll fly home and I'll fly home This song brings back a great deal of bittersweet memories of a man I let go of several years ago and have regretted that decision eversince. I dedicate this song to him.
THE ROAD NOT TAKEN
Posted 11/10/2006 6:34:57 PM I learned about this Robert Frost poem in my english class my junior year in high school. In some strange this poem describes the way I've traveled through my life. Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-- I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.
DEEP IN LOVE
Posted 11/9/2006 12:51:55 PM I discovered this poem in high school. I found it in some abstract poetry book in the school's library. I instantly fell in love with it's words and meaning. For the first time I was going out with a guy I had fallen madly in love with and it reminded me of him.....Steve. Steve and I ended up getting married after college and then like most marriages.....we ended up divorced but remain very, very close friends to this day. It still reminds me of him........he's my first love. So I hope you like it. Deep in love Cheek leaning on cheek we talked Of whatever came to our minds Just as it came Slowly, Oh Slowly With our arms twined Tightly around us And the hours passed and we did not know it Still talking when The night had gone ~Bhavabbuti (8th century)~ |
