I am personally offended by the recent political statements about my species! Ogmug I do not think that Palin was frightened by a cat as a kid. I think she just hates us! She should have left the subject alone.She has kept her mouth very closed since her speech at the RNC. Not really true since she has rehashed segments in the few public statements she has made. Why does she avoid the press and then when she does decide to speak picks the journalist she feels will best support her goals or rather McCain's goals? I do not think she has any goals. Her record in Alaska has been very bad but I believe she was picked only for her demographic appeal. What was McCain thinking or was he? McCain is the oldest candidate ever and has health issues. Am I the only one who is frightened at the prospect of this woman possibly being the leader of the free world? I agree that the candidates children should be off limits. If Chelsea had become pregnant out of marriage I doubt the issue would have been dropped and ignored. Religion has played a big part in this campaign So I guess it does not remain out of bounds.The pentecostal religion believes that the Holy Spirit enters the body and speaks through the believer proclaiming wisdom in ancient languages. The person loses control of their body and it is in control of the Holy Spirit. And we were once afraid of the influnce of the Pope. I find this much more frightening! Another thing that disturbs me is that she undisputedly, so far, did not reveal her last pregnancy even to her children until her 7th month. The only motivation I can see is political.I believe such and event should be celebrated with the family. Then given that she knew that the baby was Downs Syndrome I would have thought it very important to prepare the children for the arrival of a special needs baby for as long as possible. Her record of performance is all over the internet so I will not rehash it here. Check out the recent article by Gloria Steinem and another referenced and cited one by Anne Kilkenny. Evidence from Google!WASHINGTON -- Talk about animal magnetism, cows seem to have a built-in compass. No bull: Somehow, cattle seem to know how to find north and south, say researchers who studied satellite photos of thousands of cows around the world. Most cattle that were grazing or resting tended to align their bodies in a north-south direction, a team of German and Czech researchers reports in Tuesday's issue of Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. And the finding held true regardless of what continent the cattle were on, according to the study led by Hynek Burda and Sabine Begall of the faculty of biology at the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany. "The magnetic field of the Earth has to be considered as a factor," the scientists said. This challenges scientists to find out why and how these animals align to the magnetic field, Begall said in an interview via e-mail. "Of course, the question arises whether humans show also such a spontaneous behavior," she said, adding, what "consequences does it have for their health." The study sent Tina Hinchley, who with her husband Duane operates a dairy farm in Cambridge, Wis., to take a new look at an aerial photo taken of their farm a few years ago. "The cows that were in the pasture were all over the place ... about two-thirds were north-south," Hinchley said. Two-thirds is close to what the researchers found in their look at 8,510 cattle in 308 pastures. In the study, 60 percent to 70 percent of cattle were oriented north-south, which Begall termed a "highly significant deviation from random distribution." Hinchley stressed that one factor that must be considered is cow comfort. "They don't like to get hot. Their body temperature is 102, and they are wearing black leather jackets, literally! If turning north-south would keep them cooler, they would stand that way." The research team noted that in very windy conditions cattle tend to face the wind, and have been known to seek out the sun on cold days. But they said they were able to discount weather effects in the study by analyzing clues such as the position of the sun based on shadows. "This is a surprising discovery," said Kenneth J. Lohmann of the biology department at the University of North Carolina. "Nothing like this has been observed before in cattle or in any large animal." However Lohmann, who was not part of the research team, cautioned that "the study is based entirely on correlations. To demonstrate conclusively that cattle have a magnetic sense, some kind of experimental manipulation will eventually be needed." Joseph L. Kirschvink of the California Institute of Technology said he wondered if fences around the pastures could affect cattle orientation. Passive alignment of animals to magnetic fields has been reported in honeybees and termites, he noted. It requires some type of special sensory organ to detect the magnetic field. "If they have evidence suggesting that mammals are using magnetic fields to orient their movements, this is very cool," said Mark A. Willis, an associate professor of biomedical sciences at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. Willis, who was not part of the research team, added, "We have only in the last few years begun to understand the mechanisms underlying magnetic field orientation in birds and other smaller animals." Indeed, it's small animals that led to this study, Begall explained. They were researching the magnetic field effect on African mole-rats. "At one point last year the question came up whether large animals could also sense the Earth's magnetic field or not. But of course, it is difficult, or maybe impossible, to do these studies in the lab," she said. "So, the idea arose to look for other large mammals like cattle, and Hynek Burda was fascinated when he recognized that cattle could be found on Google Earth satellite images." With satellite images they could tell the north-south orientation of the animals, but not whether an individual cow was facing north or south. You have to get closer to tell which end is which. Now the researchers are moving on to study sheep, goats, horses, wild boar and some further deer species, Begall added. The current study said red and roe deer also were found to orient in a north-south direction when grazing and resting, but unlike the worldwide cattle study, the deer portion was limited to the Czech Republic.

Honey I do not know my address here. I am on Chestnut but that's all I know. I have been so good to try and get home. No beer...no iphone...Figgy cleaned out my paypal account for damages there! My current "custodian" takes my monthly allowance for expenses! I did not ask for gourmet catfood...and that machine that cleans the litter box.Every week a van pulls up and a groomer takes me down for a bath...thought there...sharpen the claws...means stay away from the scratching post...maybe escape!

Prisoner of Weather. Dang I am stuck at Cris' in Chicago and can't get out! She has a condo overlooking the lake. Since I can't reach the elevator button I can't escape!I tried getting out by hiding in the trash but I got caught and my alibi did not hold!  Nothing but dry cat food! No beer!..and that humiliating Easter outfit! Not allowed on the furniture.  umm while I got you listening...could you bring the sun out and melt the snow. Amen

I am mercilessly trapped by a woman here! She is worse than her brother in Denver! "Los gatos no camina los calles de Chicago!" she says!"los gatos no hace nada!"...I say back! It sucks here! I get to go in the car sometimes but mainly I sit and look at scenes like I just posted. I miss Honey and I am anxious to return to her. My iphone is never charged and it is hard to get online...she works from home.

they are sending out annual colon cancer screening kits! No costs... just send it to the lab!The easiest detectable cancer and the least used screening. Not up on the statistics but...no pun intended...easy screening.

...remember how I got stuck in Denver? Well his sister sent Honey back (she behaved St.Paddy's Day but I found a stash....still in Chicago!) but I am being held against my will! My iphone needs a charge and it's hell getting on a computer here! Dang place is cold as "hell" umm..that sound weird! I am way up on the 23rd floor of a condo building overlooking the lake.I can't reach the elevator buttons and fortunately the neighbor's cat told me the trash chute was not a good idea...also the dude who had alcohol...my "captor" does not! I miss H mdhu4575896iofighvm Dang I almost got caught online! I miss Honey! DO NOT SHOW HONEY THIS!..."her" idea of what to wear on Easter!!!!!!!!  Humiliating?!?!

There is an interesting story behind this song. I have always loved it and it ia always performed at out local Obon Festival.Life of Kyu Sakamoto, a Japanese Popular Song Artist Kyu Sakamoto (Sakamoto Kyu in Japanese) was born Hisashi Oshima (Oshima Hisashi in Japanese) on 10 November 1941 in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture. He made his show business debut in 1960. His biggest hit, Ue o Muite Aruko (I Look Up When I Walk; Sukiyaki in the West), was released in Japan in 1961. After its release in the U.S. in 1963, the song's earnestness and melodic beauty proved irresistible despite its incomprehensible lyrics. Against all odds, on 15 June 1963, the song ousted Leslie Gore's It's My Party to become the No. 1 popular song in the U.S. (After three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard chart, Sukiyaki was deposed by Easier Said Than Done by The Essex.) To this date, Sukiyaki remains the biggest international hit by a Japanese popular singer. Credit for the song's popularity also is due to the music by Hachidai Nakamura and the lyrics by Rokusuke Ei, who is said to have written this touching evocation of loneliness after his heart was broken by the actress Meiko Nakamura. Why the title Sukiyaki? The explanation is simple: intercultural ignorance. Western DJs needed a song title that was at once easily pronounceable and associated with Japan. It is a little slow on here but it seems safe from malware!Nice to log in and not see 5 lines of spammers! I do not know how Scoots will get rid of all of them since they are computer generated. You would think you could trace the IP but that may not be legal. I was using Limewire to get some new music and porn has gotten on there! Almost every title I searched the number one rated was a webcam using part of the songs title. I think the answer to spammers is that they do it because they can... and not because of any other personal gain.

I got some great pics of Honey for V-day...WOW!!!!!!!! That is one "hot" cat. I made it to Sacramento last weekend but there is snow in the mountains so I umm..."convinced" a driver to give me a lift on I 80. There's bears there too...they may wake up and make snack of me!
