Just a little update
Cold, damp, windy, these are some words to describe the weather outside. I live many feet above the city streets so the breeze that would be broken by houses isn't effected. The plus side to this is that I can see the bay, it is only about three blocks from my house. Waves are churning, snow is falling from the sky and the wind whips around my balcony. Fall is here for good.

I went to Chapters yesterday to pick up a book called "The Wars" for a book report that's due next month and I have to start working on my debate that's in one and a half weeks. I dislike debating quite a bit but it has to be done.

Later on sometime need to get out to the Dollar Store to purchase some items for later tonight. I found a really good spell the other day in one the the books I own that I'm going to work.

I tried to weave a spell on Tuesday night but it didn't work out. I wasn't prepared enough and it was my first time in about four years so my ability was weak. Tonight is going to be different, I have a good feeling about this.
Review: Coraline By: Neil Gaiman

As a student learning the ins and outs of writting I read a lot of things. Some of it is good stuff and some of it is terrible. It is rare though to come across something, read it and then say "someday I hope to write that well". Coraline was one of these unique books. It was a very quick read (seeing that it was written for children) but it was very entertaining.

For those who enjoy stories like Alice in Wonderlad and The Chronicles of Narnia will love this book.

The Great Job Hunt
School has been in since the end of August and I still haven't found a job. Last night I decided that I was going to give job searching my all today. Emails, resumes, networking and a small amount of universal begging was involved. I thought that I did a good job and to pat myself on the back I stopped at Tim Horton's for a extra large triple triple.

When I got off the bus something hit me, something wasn't right about what I was wearing. I checked my attire. Sweater-coat, check. Green t-shirt, check. Black shoes, check. Clean blue jean, che...wait a minute it is a little drafty in the pants. OH-MY-GOD! My fly was undone, it wasn't flying a little low, it was dragging on the fucking ground. The horses, pigs, cows, chickens and strange Tarzan men were all about to run out of the barn if you know what I'm saying.

So, instead of freaking out in the middle of the parking lot during one of the busiest times of the day I casually kept on walking with my head held high like nothing was wrong. I reached down and zipped up then got my triple triple.

When the universe plays a dirty prank on you just smile because it's all about the fun!
Feild Trip
This afternoon I went on a feild trip with my researching class to The War Museum of Canada. It was alright, we seen the archives, some very rare books and then went on a tour of the World War One exhibit. When I was walking around though I seen a car, this wasn't any ordinary car though. It was Hitler's staff car. That's right, if you want to see Hitler's staff car come to Ottawa and check out the War Museum of Canada.

The car itself isn't in too good shape, it was brought to North America by some American soldiers at the end of World War Two and they wanted to see if it was really bullet-proof. From the cracks in the windows it looked like it really was. It was later bought by a Canadian and then donated to the War Museum.

Sorry I sound so amazed by this but I never thought I would ever see the car Hitler drove around in.

Oh, the rest of the feild trip was alright too.
Dreaming
When we sleep are we really awake? Since moving into this apartment sleep has been a blend of the two worlds. I never really have a "good" night sleep anymore, I remember dreaming but I also remember being awake.

I'll use last night as an example. I was in a back yard talking to my dead grandmother then I was kissing my soulmate, she was wearing one of my shirts and then I was in a dark crawlspace with little bugs picking at my skin. It feels like I'm always awake though I'm sleeping. It's interesting.

Since I've dedecatied myself to Spider she has been showing up a lot more. On television, in books, in conversations I have nothing to do with, in grafitti, in dreams. She is everywhere. Tomorrow is going to be the first day that we will work together. This is exciting.
With a blink of an eye...
Twenty-three is turning out to be an important age in my life. Everything is changing and I feel no fear about this. I accept what is going on, my path has been uncovered and the journey begins.

In the summer I picked up a book about the basic beliefs of shamanism. The first part of the book explained the history of shamanism and then went into how to find out what your power animal is. This is the animal you would call upon when practising and it is something that you cannot choose. You are chosen by this animal. I started to practise some of the steps in finding your power animal, just to see what would happen.

It was only three days ago that this animal allowed me to figure out what it was. I had been chosen by the Spider spirit. This did take me off guard at first because spiders make me uneasy but the more I looked into what the spirit represents it made sense.

The Spider is best known for knowing Fate. It sees the past, present and future. It knows the patterns of the universe, it weaves magic from the strands that holds reality together. My past reflects the ability to view moments in time. To predict what has and will happen. I have let this practise go over time but I need to strengthen these abilities once again.

The Spider is also known as the creator of the alphabet and helps form the written word. Right now I'm learning the ins and outs of the writing industry. Working with words is my career choice.

These are just two of the things that I found out about this spirit so far and I am looking forward to learning more.

I know now that I have purpose in life, I have a soulmate to love and a future to uncover. Being chosen by this spirit is beginning to transform my entire being into something beautiful.

In short I've begun a journey that I will never fully complete because life itself is never ending. This is its record.

The book that changed my thinking the most is The teachings of Don Juan: A Yacqui way of knowledge, by Carlos Castaneda. If you can find it, it's on audio too and is read by a guy named Peter Coyote - just awesome
