Many sleep tonight in their dirt floors or in their cots thinking of how wonderful it would be to sleep somewhere in the USA.Many others keep reading and seeing the internet and youtube and google and think: Is this what America is like? The posts from some people in the internet reveal the animosity (to put it mildly) that they have towards peole from the world outside "their" world. It is not a pretty picture and it conflicts with the image, the brand, the consciousness that the world used to have of american values, now we are thugs, war mongers, killers, rapists, abusers, dictators, greedy, power hungry,imperialists, monsters... That is not America nor Americans and it needs to stop, there is good in this world, there is kindness and compassion and there is understanding that goes beyond the actions or lack thereof of some young soldiers or some dumb politicians.

Life is filled with grief. That is the truth. Mine may be a difficult but fortunate existence and for that I am grateful, it is filled with moments of tenderness and joy reflected by anguish and frustration natural of raw knowledge. All in all, it is so good to be alive and I am happy for the bounty, the abundance, the experiences that let me see just how fortunate I am. It is also that which torments me with the feeling that I haven’t done enough and that there is so much more that needs to be done. Therefore, I count on you friends and kind souls to do your share and reach to those who need us regardless of their exterior circumstances. We all need one another in some way, let peace become you and may your words be filled with kindness and your days with abundance of happiness and joy knowing full well that you are a creature of God and that you are Loved! Even in the worst of circumstances, there is a connection between us that is spiritual. I admit that sometimes reality gets me down, some say that ignorance is bliss. Ignoring it would make me guilty by omission, and I just can't let that happen. Instead, I search for a ray of hope among the clouds of darkness, and there I find this. leads to anger,frustration from the insecurities wishing to be able to do something and pain from not being able to reconcile the two. I leave it all in the hands up above, willing to bet my life on his existence,confident that it is wiser to let go and let God than to tangle further with wasteful doubts that lead to nowhere else but more violence and more helplessness. Family is a magic gift that God gives to us. It is a gift that we can alter in many ways and that in many ways we must accept. We have a chance to make our own family and rectify shortcomings and that we must. The one thing that we should do is enjoy family even if it is only a pet, a friend, a memory... Family, you see is what we want to embrace and become part of, and sometimes what embraces us and gives us identity. Ejusdem Generis; Noscitur a sociis; We are who and what we associate with. It is so easy to find reasons to not get along. So easy to find fault and to find issues to disagree with; It is so, so hard to find the one that you love, one that you feel that you can share your soul with. Or is it? perhaps if you reach out and tell that "someone": hey, You feel like I feel we should feel if we feel that our feelings should be out in the field that just you and me feel, and we'll find...'us'. Or perhaps it would be easier to reach out and say: Te amo! I rather see love than hate any day.

With all this violence and all this poverty and some people wanting to impose their will. They claim that they know what is best for everyone but only care to see what they want. They judge and point fingers and render sentences but offer no solutions to our greatest problems. I say if you want to love someone, go for it. I rather see you kiss than kill. Sometimes what we really need most is a hug.

So many pressing issues at the same time. It seems like so much is hanging on the line and instead of fearing for the worst, I am optimistic. I believe that humans are good deep inside and that we will vote accordingly. I believe that we all need each other much more than we are willing to recognize. I believe that together we can make a change and go much farther than simple ideals and words. I believe that if we look into each other's eyes, we will see that there is sincerety in this greeting.

Violence leads to nothing else but pain. No one wins, yet we are obsessed in gaining power through violence or the threat of it. Tolerance is the virtue of being able to accept other's rights despite the fact that it may cause us offense,anger,fear. When we practice what we preach, we win by living up to our higher standards. Freedom is not free, it requires sacrifice, it requires doing what is right even if we don't like it. Violence is only proper for self-defense...

Nuclear! frightening! While the people suffer hunger and search for food below the ice, their military brandishes the ultimate killing machine. We need solutions, we need to reach out in search for peace. War brings only suffering, they are scared into submission. The only way is to stand together and resist dictatorships. We need to show them that there is a better way and that we want to help.

The Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have done unto you" Anyone classified as an "enemy combatant" with or without being able to face the accuser nor have any evidence whatsoever available is subject to unlimited prison time and "interrogation" techniques. The world looks at this and scratches it's head while it hears the constant sounding of the drums claiming "Freedom & Democracy." Justice begins within ourselves. Look in the mirror and put away preconceived notions, open your mind and soul and search for truth. Together the future is ours, we can show them that there is no sense in fighting us and that they will be happier joining us.

Just want to share the thought that even though reality is tough and existence is challenging, it is good to know that you exist and it is just one little tiny something that keeps you from reaching out and acknowledging. Life is more perseverance than talent most times. Not that it hurts when you do your very best. Even then, sometimes hard work is unproductive and sometimes it leads to a good day. Most days, even when someone else reaps the rewards, it is so great to share in their good tidings. The next time, it will be you. Existence is circular, both yin and yang go around and around...

Reading... thinking... knowing that you have seen different aspects after different stages in your life. Everyone sees things the way they want to perceive them. We make up our minds and then find a way to rationalize our decision. Our ability to think four times faster than we can articulate ideas, limits and expands our subjectivity. We must let go of pre-conceptions to get a view from different positions. The tough part is dealing with the uncomfortable knowledge that what we thought was wrong. Repulsive yet effective; at least in the short term. The roar in the streets is to punish and to silence. The fanning of fear of the unknown is furious. In the end, we all lose for ideas will not dare to appear when censored before discussion/expression. We must stand firm and resist the urge to join the crowd. Caged Birds are no longer their essence without flight.

Urgency in how we proceed each day in accomplishing our tasks, reaching for our goals, blazing our own paths... Just yesterday, we were children playing and living carefree days. Now, every moment counts, the days grow shorter, the nights come quicker, the days fly by us. Are you the person you thought of yourself when you were young? No more time to waste, materialism will not reflect who you really, really are. The end almost always comes when we are not ready. It will not wait for us to say good bye. Tell them you love them, give them your best, act for today as if and because today may be our last.

Home is where the heart is? As long as you have someone to share it with, home is the very heart that keeps us going. What does your roof look like tonight? Have you come to terms with your fortune and in your thankfulness put aside superficial differences? We get another chance tomorrow, lest you wake up in a home that makes this one a mansion. Just as her parents bathed her, she now repeats it with her child. She should have a better place for her children, sure, but she has her heart in the right place. Being a good mother is worth so much more than luxuries!
