....and I'm back much like New Orleans
Posted 12/1/2006 7:29:06 AM
Been a while since I typed anything on this page...

But I'm back in the office busier than ever having come off a much needed and much appreciated vacation. New Orleans was a blast and Colorado with the family was great as always... Only negative was that it didn't snow while I was out there. Of course only a few hours after my plane took off from Denver International the snow came in force...

Just thought I would add that if you were thinking about heading to New Orleans don't hesitate. The French Quarter is almost fully up and running and the people there haven't forgot how to let loose and have fun. Sure a few things haven't made it back but not enough to spoil a vacation or a quick getaway...

Have fun!!!

Travel: Off to NOLa tomorrow
Posted 11/16/2006 9:37:50 AM
Sweet! - I'm actually going somewhere fun and not for work! Heading to New Orleans with some old College buddies. Hmmm... were not really that old but I suspect as we make the rounds up and down Bourbon Street we are going to feel old.

Anyway for me it will just be nice to forget about work for a while a kick around with my friends. I'm staying there until Thanksgiving morning and then I fly to Denver to spend T-Day with the family. That should be nice and relaxing and hopefully it will snow so I can play in the snow with my Niece and Nephew. Actually I like playing in the snow but I like to have my sister's kids around to excuse my behavior...LOL

So just got to get through this last day in the office so I can have some fun for once.

Busy Busy Busy
Posted 11/11/2006 10:38:01 AM
It's been hectic at work, which is why I haven't been on here much over the last week. In fact it been so crazy that I have decided (and believe me I wasn't too happy about it) to bring some of the work home to do over the weekend. I really wish it would rain but of course it's absolutely fantastic weather we are having today....

Such is the life -CSJeff

Home again...
Posted 11/5/2006 1:17:25 PM
Great to be back in (partly) Sunny Fort Lauderdale... This time for almost two weeks (baring unforeseen circumstances).

Well now I have to get caught up on stuff at home and then Monday at the office... Such is the life.

Oh I'm so Lucky to be working on Cruise Ships.....(sic)
Posted 11/2/2006 6:13:02 PM
Let's see I flew to San Diego took a cab straight from the Airport to the Ship. That was last Saturday. Today is Thursday and I have stepped one foot off the ship since. Oh the ship sailed to Cabo, Matzatlan and Puerto Vallarta but I didn't cast a shadow in any of those places.

This coming Saturday I will jump off the ship at 9am and jump in a cab headed right back to the Airport. Back home in Fort Lauderdale that evening.

My friends like to give me hell about how great my job is while they are stuck in an office all day. I have two things to say to that. One we all make career choices. Two, it's not like I'm sipping Pina Coladas by the pool. It's not like I'm laying on a beach all day on some tropical island. I'm working. Sure the scenery is great but the job is a job. Oh and if your interested we are hiring.

Travel: Oh am I pissed at myself.
Posted 10/27/2006 4:12:22 PM
Man do I piss myself off sometimes. I am suppossed to be on a plane right now on my way to San Diego. But when I got to the airport this afternoon I realized I hadn't brought my passport with me. Obviously I don't need that to go to San Diego but I was getting on a ship that is sailing to Mexico and a driver's license isn't enough...

So I had to push my flight back to first thing tomorrow morning. Man that pisses me off. It's so embarassing calling the customer up and telling them what an idiot I was....

And I had just posted earlier today that I always forget things when I pack.... Damn I think I jinxed myself!

Travel: Tired of always packing and unpacking
Posted 10/27/2006 10:11:41 AM
I travel a lot in this job of mine. A lot. And in my regular life I'm travelling quite a bit as well. So I pack often. The weird thing is that I really suck at it. I always forget stuff or just don't think about where I'm going or what I'm doing. Always. I went to Iceland without a jacket once. I thought hey it's June.... FYI it's cold in Iceland in June.... It's called Iceland for the love of Pete...

So guess what I'm doing today. Yep, packing for my trip to San Diego. But, the good thing is it forces me to finally unpack from my last trip to Seattle....LOL -CSJeff

About that Picture..
Posted 10/26/2006 7:46:49 PM
I'm the guy in the Blue Jacket pondering our next move. That picture was taken about 2am in a Club on the Reeperbahn in Hamburg Germany. It was a great night, I was accompanied by a Brit, a South African, an Australian and three Germans...

It's fun for me to hang out in groups full of people from different cultures. In fact I think that being exposed to different cultures will help shape a person into a more well rounded person than they would be otherwise. So you can see why I like the quote I have posted in my profile so much....

Killers performed this song on David Letterman last night. I missed it because I forgot...I was probably watching something stupid on Comedy Central...

Nothing against Comedy Central.

Travel: Heading out Friday
Posted 10/24/2006 9:39:32 PM
Back to the West Coast, only this time San Diego. Will only be there overnight as Saturday morning I jump on a ship for a week... it goes in a big circle and when it gets back to San Diego I'll fly back home again.

I'm not really to thrilled about it personally because it's work. But when I show up at the port there are going to be close to 2000 other people there hoping to have the time of their lives... the contrast is stark. I'm just hoping it goes fast...

It's interesting to me that geographically there will be 2800 people (Passengers, Crew and a few Contractors like me) embarking on the same journey however every one of them has a different set of expectations and will certainly have different experiences. Some good, some bad, some just average.... One path but many journeys.

And that my friends is about as philosophical as I can get...

Catching up with CSJ
Posted 10/19/2006 3:42:39 PM
Wow I have been Busy - But I'm staying home this weekend and taking it easy. I plan on going to the Beach and make sure it's still there. While it sucks that it is still in the 80's here despite the fact that the Calander say October, it is nice that the Beach is still an option. Well it's always an option but sometimes it's a better option than others.

Music: Infra-Red

Here is a song by a Band called Placebo. Placebo seems to be one of those bands you either like a lot or you don't like at all. Obviously I'm in the group that really likes them. This is off their CD called Meds. Give it a listen.

Travel: Off like a prom dress
Posted 10/9/2006 8:46:33 PM
Well I'm heading back to Seattle again early tomorrow morning. Weather looks nice.. Funny thing is I don't have a hotel yet. I looked briefly online but there isn't much available so I'm hoping someone can pull some strings. I guess The Who is playing Wednesday night and a lot of people don't plan on driving home...smart move I'm sure.

But damn - CSJeff

Music: She's not it...
Posted 10/2/2006 10:11:03 PM
You know since I travel so damn much on airplanes the most important thing I carry with me is my Ipod Nano. Now whether or not an Ipod is the way to go is a later discussion, however some sort of MP3 player is essential.

One of the biggest things for me now is keeping that thing filled with new and interesting music. Poking around the Internet in some half crazed obsession to not necessarily find what is Hot according to the Masses but what is Hot according to CSJ (that's me) has been a nice distraction from my unending work-related grind.

Anyway what's Hot (in my world at least) now is Head Automatica. This is a band that is starting to gain some momentum and I think it is with merit.

One day I'll learn how to put a player on here but until then, if your interested...

Travel: Egyptian Musk
Posted 10/2/2006 12:01:31 AM
Well I made it to Seattle. The hotel I'm in has free wireless which is always nice.

Funny thing happened on the flight today, just as we were approaching Seattle the Cabin Steward said we had been cleared to land in the Seattle area. The Area? Any particular place in pilots have in mind, like hopefully the Airport? Just thought it was weird that he would phrase it that way.

Hmm so it looks like I'm going to finally have to learn HTML in order to jazz this thing up a little...
