Recap on Last Year - Stolen Car
Posted 11/14/2006 12:51:22 PM Recap on last year when my car was stolen.... Well, I went on my vacation to FL and low and behold, while I was away, the person watching my car reports to me that someone stole it! That's right! They stole my Audi A4! LUCKILY, though, it was recovered and not a scratch was on her...so my friend reported... Im so relieved. Supposedly, the theif didnt realize he/she was driving a bluetooth equiped car until they either saw their cellphone book appear on my dash or they got a call and it came over my cars speakers...they abandoned the car realizing that it could be tracked by police; or they realized that the European car plates wouldnt fit over the grill. The police impounded my car for several days for fingerprints. Haha! The police even got a scare because I had Dinar (Kuwait money) in a wallet that they found in the car. They thought it may have been a terrorist who stole my car until my friend confirmed with me that the money belonged to me..lol. So how did the events go down? My friend was watching my car and while he slept (he will sleep through anything), the theif (Carabinieri believe there may have been 2-4 persons involved) froze the door handle to my house and broke it off, entered and started looking for his Audi key I gave him. They found his uniform top and bottoms and took them outside and started looking through them for his Audi key. They spotted it on the diningroom table and took it. Then next morning when my friend went out to drive to work in my car, he realized it was gone. He called his boss who lives down the street from me and his boss and italian wife called the Carabinieri. When they came out, they inspected the house noting that not only did they break my house lock but overrode the electric gate to get the car in/out of the drive-way. As they gathered information from my friend about the car, one of the Carabinieri realized that earlier that morning someone had reported a really nice looking Audi as being abandoned and he discovered it just two blocks from my house while he was enjoying his early morning walk around the neighborhood. He said that he saw the lovely car and went up to look at it and found that the keys were still in the car and the door was open. He immediately called the police who in turn confiscated it. THANK GOD IT WAS RECOVERED!! It would suck for me to have had to report my car as stolen to my insurance company cause they would have to provide me the total cost of the car and then that would make my insurance skyrocket! It would be nice to get that money back, believe me, but I think I would rather have my car...I love my car..LOL. Well, the landlords replaced my door handle and fixed the electric gate. My friend started locking the shutters at night so no one would be tempted to break in again. I flipped out a lot when I saw how dirty my car was from the Carabinieri and the theives. They did make off with my CD collection I had in my car which included DLG, Mariah Carey Emancipation of Mimi, FrankieJ, Regaton mix, Havanah Nights soundtrack, Salsa Bachata Regaton mix a DJ here made for me, and so many others. I will miss the CDs since many of them have great memories behind them (FrankiJ, Omarion, etc)....but at least I got Juwell Crystale (my car) back!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN
Posted 10/31/2006 2:51:05 PM It's my favorite holiday of the year finally. I've been going to party after party this weekend and having a blast meeting new people. Shame I'm too old for candy; get fat eating it. However, I always love the chance to dress up! Here's to wishing you a very HAPPY HALLOWEEN! By the way, let's reminisce on your most favorite memory of halloween when you were growing up....I would have to say mine was when I dressed up as Pippi Longstocking. *I had a very imaginative mother.
Travels: Camping at Tramonti di Sopra, Italy
Posted 10/24/2006 10:05:17 AM My friends Serge, Adam, and I went camping in Tramonti Di Sopra. When we arrived at the camping area, we gathered wood and set up camp. Serge and I ventured down the rocky path where the waterfalls were. To reach the waterfalls you have to cross the rocks and set foot in the water. We were good until we had to walk in the water. Let me tell you, that water was freezing! We hurried out of the water onto the rocky path; our legs/feet hurting/tingling from the cold water; I hate the cold so I wasn't about to do that again. We gave that little journey up quick and returned to see how Adam faired on blowing up his raft. While there a few other guys showed up and we offered them beer to which they gladly accepted. We three ventured with them to their camping site and met the other guys camping with them. We sat around their fire listening to their stories and sharing some of ours. Dave, one of the guys in the group, had a camera and took pictures of everyone doing goofy things..lol. We flipped over "kiddie bars", did pushups, and several of the guys decided to venture down the riverway to dunk in the water...I wasn't about to get cold/wet after feeling how cold that water was earlier that day! We talked into the night till early morning. When Serge decided to venture off and fall asleep on a picnic table, we knew it was time to say goodnight. Next morning, the guys we met went to see the waterfalls then headed home. Adam and Serge wanted to camp there one more night so they did a run down to the store while I stayed at the camp and took a power nap. When they returned the sun was out making it warm weather. All of us ventured up the road to where people dived off small cliffs/rocks into the deep end of the riverway. We admired the view from the road; fish swam around rocks/the sun sparkled across the water; it was so mesmerizing I had to control my temptation to dive off the side of the road into the water..*of course, I don't swim that well and I'm sure I would have gone into instant shock from the cold water once I hit it so good thing I didn't do it. Adam set out in his raft with Serge and I following him down the riverway by foot. Once Adam got to where he could float no more due to rocks, he picked up his raft and carried it over to us and we ventured back to the camping site. We all decided to give it another shot at trying to cross the rocks/water to see the waterfalls. This time around we made it! The water wasn't near as cold as it was the day before. We watched the fish swim around the pool at the base of the waterfall. After enjoying the area for a while we ventured back....me slipping all over the rocks in the shoes I had on. Later that night, we built a fire, mixed drinks and BBQd some food. I laid in Adam's raft and watched the stars above me twinkling; I tried to find the big dipper. Serge plopped right down beside me and tried to help...we found the small one but not the big one..lol. Once the fire died, we all went to the tent and fell asleep. Early next morning, we packed up the tent/our belongings and headed out to Navarons. We stayed there for about an hour then ventured home. That was the end to my weekend camping trip in Tramonti Di Sopra.
The Forgotten Unicorn
Posted 10/13/2006 9:36:27 AM My mane of many colors swirls through the wind as I look into the sky with it's stars of no end. Children have forgotten me for they no longer believe; for their love I have known I no longer perceive. I stand on this grassy cliff watching above for the hope of some child to send me their love. Oh please, close your eyes and think of me. Unlock your imagination with your magical key! Let us have fun and forever pretend; and put my tears of being forgotten to their sorrowful end. by Brandy Melissa Stiles *This poem was printed in my local newspaper when I was around 13 yrs old. I wanted to share it with you all. Dedicated to Ashley Diane, Amanda Marie, and David Ramirez. May we never let the "booger goblin fairies" part our friendship. :-D
Travels: Returning from Oktoberfest! (Munchen Duetchland)
Posted 10/3/2006 9:37:27 AM Oktoberfest 2006! Wee! My last time for visiting Germany was AWESOME. I can't even begin to find words to describe how much fun I had. I went to Oktoberfest last year and had a good time but for some reason it was way better this year..must have been the company I had this time around. To begin, the party started at the Grill Bar near an Agip station on AP Highway. We all showed up to check in for our seats..we signed up for a bus trip down and back. One of my friends had me sitting beside my aka lil brother's friend but when I found that out, I ensured they were sitting together. :-) I asked to be assigned with my aka Sexy Redhead Lefthand Twin Corey. So, we finally get on the bus after waiting for a couple of hours...drinking Tequila and Beer while we waited (I had a pretty good buzz going). Everyone started to pass and mix drinks when the bus departed and my poor twin, about two hours into the bus ride, asks to use the restroom. I knew he was going to be sick so I moved seats to sit beside my friend Boyd. Everyone is talking and flirting (yes, there were only a few ladies on the bus so we were enjoying all the attention from the guys) and I start complaining about there not being any music. One of my friends puts some music on. That is when the party really started! Myself and a buddy of mine, Steve, get in the middle of the isle of the bus and start dancing. Several other people do the same and next thing I know over half the bus is "living life large" dancing. We partied all the way down from Italy to Germany. When we arrived in Germany (Munich/Munchen) it was about 6:30 in the morning. The people I chose to hang around (Corey, Petersen, Boyd, and T) got off the bus and headed over to Hoffbrahaus tent (they have the best beer/food there). We waited outside the tent ( a good 2 hrs since they opened at 9) talking to everyone around us. T and I were trying to pass time by scoping for hot guys. Finally, it comes time for them to open the doors to the tent. My friends and I grasp arms and push/get pushed into the entrance way of the tent (you can hardly breathe cause everyone is so packed together to get inside). We head for a bench and claim it as ours...ensuring we save room for our other friends who decided to drive down instead of take the bus. AND GUESS WHAT?! WE WERE THE FIRST, that's right, THE FIRST to get served beer in the tent. We were so ecstatic that we all stood on the table and started cheering (we didnt get off the table/sit down on the pews unless the security guys came by...then we'd wait for them to leave and we'd stand right back up on the table/pews) . Everyone in the tent started cheering and singing (they sang their nations songs: Brazil, Italy, Germany, Australia, etc)...All of our other friends who decided to drive down show up and we make room for them at the table with us. Everyone starts clanking their glasses of beer together sloshing it all over the table/breaking the beer glasses. I didn't spend a penny on beer or food..everyone was in such a good mood they were being generous buying beer/food for everyone else. We drank and ate chicken,/pretzels from 9am till 1pm...that is when we decided to "walk off" some of the beer. *Somehow, McCall gets out of the tent with a mug full of beer..hard feat to pull since security guards are everywhere ensuring no one walks out with the beer mugs. Petersen (buzzing), Sergio (buzzing), McCall (drunk), Boyd (drunk), Corey (umm..buzzing I think), and I (kind of buzzing) decide to head out to Hard Rock Cafe. *Word of advice, never travel anywhere with drunks..hehe...they are happy singing fools everywhere you drag them to. Boyd and McCall were singing and dancing all the way through the Oktoberfest to the Underground Rail Station. We tried to figure out which underground station rail to take to get to Hard Rock Cafe. We got on one we thought was headed where we wanted to go and got off at Karlsplatz, near Hard Rock Cafe. We ventured to Hard Rock and got a table inside. Next thing I know, Boyd, Corey, and McCall started dozing off! Petersen, Sergio, and I are just lauging at them. Corey was the funniest of everyone because he kept waking up to us laughing and started to laugh with us..then he focused on the TV infront of him and his eyes started to cross...then he was out...just to wake up and do it all over again. :-D Our food comes, we eat, and decide to walk around the town. Before we head out we run into Boggs and T who had the same mindset as us about Hard Rock Cafe. All of us start walking around the town and come to a waterfountain where everyone decides to sit. Once again, Corey, Boyd, and McCall are out cold. We let them rest for a good 45 minutes while we window shop in the immediate area. Once we got something to drink we woke them up and decided to head back to the fest. *Again, never travel with drunks; and cell phones are the best thing man has created yet cause we all got seperated once we made it to the underground rail station..hehe Upon entering the fest again, T and I want to ride some of the rides. Boggs and Boyd are in agreement that they too want to ride some of the rides. (Sergio and McCall decide to head back to their other buddies who are located in the tent still.) We get on a spinning disk-like ride where you sit against the outermost part of the ring and hold on to bars located inbehind your head. The ring starts to spin and one part of the ring lifts into the air and starts bouncing everyone up and down as if trying to get rid of the occupants. Boyd and T decide to let go of the bars inbehind them and just let the ride toss them back and forth down the seats. Well, little did Boyd know that Boggs foot ended up on the seat and Boyd "met" Boggs foot between the legs. Everyone started to laugh at Boyd vice laugh/scream because of the ride..Boyd's boys were alright though. After the ride, we stumble off (dizzy from going round and round in circles). T and I want to ride another ride but the line is too long. We opt to ride the flying swings since the line is shorter. After we rode the swings we all decided to head back to the bus. By this time it is around 7:45pm. The bus isnt supposed to depart until 9:30pm. When we arrive at the bus, almost the entire busload of occupants are there! Guess they tired of the days events and decided to see if the bus was open early as well. Needless to say everyone was silent (except my aka lil bro who starts to annoy eveyone cause he is being loud and obnoxious..he's drunk again..hehe) We slept all the way back to Italy...I just woke up myself (recovering from partying all weekend) and decided to share this adventure with you all. Yes, I have to say...I really enjoyed this trip! My last trip to Germany :-( ....went off with a BLAST! :-D
Travels: My travels to Sardegna Italy!!
Posted 9/23/2006 5:19:57 AM Ah, I just returned from a vacation in Sardegna (Sardinia for you English/Americans), Italy! It was SO BEAUTIFUL! A real "small" paradise but so nice. I went with several friends (TR, Nic, and Barbara). All of us were enjoying the scenery of trees, crowded walkways, motorcycle show, beach, bars, etc. We stayed with one of Nic's friends named Giovanni. Nic met him through COUCHSURFING.com. *If you are interested in a free place to stay while traveling anywhere in the world, check that site out...you will be amazed. They have special wine that is called Mirto - made from a plant only available in Sardegna. We ate in a restaurant that Giovanni chose (sorry, can't remember the name) and they served us dish after dish of fresh seafood. Never have I had so much variety of seafood...not even in Red Lobster. All of it was delicious. I ate a special pasta...called something along these lines: Cerne al negre. It is a special pasta that is cooked in, get this now, octopus ink...yeah! It sounds gross right? Well, amazingly enough it was the tastiest dish of the night. Bad thing in all was that it turned your mouth and teeth black from the ink but it didn't stay too long after the meal. I got a pic of TR trying it and showing the bottom part of his teeth..all black..lol. Well, I will write more later on my adventures around the world.
My travel to Doha Qatar!
Posted 9/11/2006 2:09:26 PM Well, I just returned from Qatar! That was the most interesting place to visit. I loved the city of Doha. Anyone looking for a wonderful inexpensive but "treated like royalty" vacation, go to Doha, Qatar! Seriously! They have the most awesome sculpters, round-a-bout themes, and best bargains around on carpets, jewelry, movies, etc. This city is the next vacation get-away. The culture is different but interesting. Heard they can't drink in Middle East? Well, they cant in public areas but there are bars in clubs and hotels everywhere! While there, I met the best bunch of people; some of which I hope to keep in contact with indefinitely. Shouts to DJ (thank you for the "parties"), Terri (be a model woman!), Greg and Eddie (Preevet Sonnce), Michelle (my sister), The One and Only Tony (looking good, bro), Luis (estas muy loco amigo!), Jennifer and all my other buddies...too many to name! I have pics of Doha, Qatar on my Yahoo and MYSPACE! Check them out!
